'the prevention or relief of poverty'

Back to SchoolBank East Renfrewshire supplies brand new school uniforms, indoor/outdoor gym kit, schoolbags and stationery, to children living in situations of poverty and hardship. We operate through a referral system, working with local support agencies and schools and have developed long-standing and recognised partnerships with our local council, relevant departments such as HSCP and Social Work and other support agencies within East Renfrewshire. The children referred are anonymous to us. We have no other details other than what they need, the schools they attend, the age of the children and the sizes required for them. Our referral applications come from children of families who find themselves in any kind of vulnerable position, We accept the due diligence of our referrers and accept without question, their applications to us for help for their families. We attempt to reduce divisions existing through poverty and the limitations a lack of education brings.

Objectives: The relief of poverty through the provision of free school uniforms and other essentials to enable children to attend school in the East Renfrewshire area.
