## wh FRIENDS ## **FRIENDS OF ADEN** ## **CHAIR’S REPORT 2025** Once again, the Friends have had a busy year. In March Buchan Day Opportunities finished their project at the shop, meaning that we were looking at maintaining the running of the Craft and Gift shop ourselves. After a successful Volunteer Awareness Day held last August in the Coach House, we were able to recruit some new volunteers. Along with our existing volunteers and crafters and the new volunteers we have been able to run the shop efficiently, every day between the hours of 11am till 3pm. Many, many thanks to this group of dedicated people, who without them we would not be able to keep going. The Royal visit with H.R.H. The Princess Royal in April brought a great deal of excitement to both the park and the shop. In June we helped at the Beer Festival a very successful event. Many thanks are due to Roy, his team, all the volunteers, helpers (too numerous to mention individually) and the public who made the day a success and we look forward to the forthcoming Music Festival in September. In conjunction with the Men’s Shed we provided teas and cakes at the Seedy Sunday event. In July the Wild about Aden event took place. The shop was extremely busy and throughout the year we have assisted our partners in the park with various projects. We remain part of the Deer Heritage Initiative, which is an ongoing project. A huge debt of gratitude goes to our wonderful team of crafters and volunteers who have done a sterling job of keeping the craft shop stocked and open on a weekly basis. Thanks go to Buchan Day Services for their work maintaining the shop over the many years they were there. I would personally like to extend my thanks to all the crafters, volunteers and the committee for their help and support throughout the year. To Frances and Linda who without their input the shop would struggle. To the Rotary and Men’s Shed for all their ongoing support.
