The SHED is in use from Monday to Thursday with ou **r** main meeting day being every Wednesday. Work on com **p** leting the Workshop and tidying the site in **g** eneral is ongoing and any Shedder is welcome to come alo **n** g on these days to help. ## **2) Board of Trustees** The Board of our Shed is made up of a maximum of nine Trustees who ar **e** Shedders elected by the Shedders to serve a three year **t** erm of office. The purpose of the Board is **t** o manage the day to day needs and running of Keith & **D** istrict Men’s Shed under the provisions **o** f our Constitution, OSCR Charity regulations and the Law. Your current Trustees are: Stev **e** Hickin - Chair, Steve Purves – Vice Chair, Stewart Cree – Treasurer, Jake Kelly, Gordon McWilliam, B **o** b McWilliam, Barry Ritchie, and Dave Bro **w** n – Whose term of Office ends at the 2026 AGM. Don Ferguson, who was elected as Trustee by the members at the 2025 **A** GM, had been elected as Secretary by the Board but, wa **s** subsequently unable to take up the duti **e** s of the Secretary due to personal matters and following on from that, resigned as a Trustee in Decem **b** er 2025. As no other Trustee was able to take up the role of Secretary at that time, **a** nd in order to resolve the matter the Board appointed Fiona Addison, a founder member of KDMS, as an ex officio secretary. The vacancy created by the resi **g** nation of Don Ferguson in December 2025 was filled by the Board of Trustees under the provisions o **f** our Constitution by appointing Robbie Mc **C** ulloch into the post until the 2026 AGM, where his term o **f** office will end. ## **3) Members** Since the last AGM we have had a steady flow of interest in our Shed with new members joining and bringing new skills into the Shed. ## _Davie Leith_ I would like to make a mention **o** f Davie Leith who was an enthusiastic me **m** ber of our Shed and sadly passed away at the end of 202 **5** , in his will he left a generous bequest of £10,000 to our Shed. Our thanks and condolences went ou **t** to his family. Consideration is being given to o **t** her opening times. ## **5) Building Project** The Pavilion and Hobby Room a **r** e complete with just tidying up inside to be finished, the Workshop is almost completed with the final **p** ositioning of machinery and final installati **o** n of the extraction system outstanding. In the outside area **t** he Acoustic Barrier is complete and arrang **e** ments are in hand for the erection of the Poly Tunnel and Green House. Tidying up in the outsid **e** area is ongoing with a permanent back gate still to be i **n** stalled. ## **6) Treasurer’s Report & Annual Accounts** The Treasurer has prepared the Annual Accounts for 2024/2025 and they have been independently verified, they will be presented f **o** r adoption as part of his report to the AG **M** and lodged with OSCR as required. Thanks to our fund raising efforts and the generosity of the Keit **h** community our accounts are in a healthy state. A £1000 donation from the TES **C** O Sure Start fund was divided between the Poly Tunnel group and to provide kitchen equipment. ## **7) Activities** ## _**Music Group:**_ Our Music Group, organised by **W** illie Barron, initially came together in 2022 **w** hen we were still meeting at The Loft Youth Projec **t** Hall and in the last 12 months it has really **d** eveloped. During early 2025 the group started receiving requests from other community groups to c **o** me along and entertain them, these sessions are present **e** d as ‘Sing Along with the Shedders’ and have proven very popular with return bookings being made. A report of the Music Groups activities is attached to t **h** is report. _See Appendix 1 for Music Group rep_ _**o** rt_ ## _**Painting & Drawing Group:**_ A Painting and Drawing group **h** as been formed with a local Artist, leading the sessions, the group meets at the Pavilion every 4[th] Monday to practice and develop their artistic **s** kills. ## _**2026 Burns Supper:**_ Following the success of the S **h** edders Burns Supper in January 2025, th **e** 2026 Burns Supper was expanded as a ticketed event to include members of the local community **o** ver the age of 60, and in order to accommodate this exp **a** nsion the venue was relocated to the Keit **h** Royal British Legion Hall. This expanded event was very p **o** pular with more applicants for tickets than seats were available, as a Page **3** of **9** _**Keith & District Men’s Shed is a Charity registered in Scotland**_ **The Pavilion Seafield Park, Keith, AB55 5AJ Email: kdmenshed@gmail.com** ## **Keith & District Men’s Shed Founded 2016** **______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________** **_** result of the enthusiastic suppor **t** from the community the 2027 Burns Supper is already in the planning stage. ## _**2026 Coffee Morning:**_ The KDMS Coffee Morning is an **a** nnual event that is looked forward to by t **h** e Shedders and the wider community and scheduled for Ju **n** e 2026 in the Longmore Community Hall. ## _**Poly Tunnel:**_ The Poly Tunnel growers group has been formed and visited the Foggy M **e** n’s Shed to see how they operate their Poly Tunnel. Now that the location for our Poly Tunnel has be **e** n cleared and levelled the next step is to put it up. ## **8) External Activities** External activities in the commu **n** ity are still difficult to entertain while we are completing the exterior areas of our site and enquiries are carefully considered so the Shedders can **c** ontinue to be active in the community. The Music Group continues to b **e** popular and is active in external visits to l **o** cal Care Homes and other community groups. ## **9) Looking Ahead** We are approaching the point in our Lease with Moray Council when we ha **v** e the option of activating the Break Clause to allow us to consider our options which could be; Con **t** inue with the Lease as is, Make an application for a Co **m** munity Asset Transfer of the Pavilion and Land into the Shed’s ownership or, walk away from t **h** e lease. These and other options must be **c** arefully considered by the Board and the Shedders before a decision is made. ## **2027 AGM** The provisional date for the 202 **7** AGM is 21st April 2027, the date will be co **n** firmed nearer the time. We rehearse on a Th **u** rsday afternoon at the Shed. At present we have fourteen shedders involved in the group. The group started performing in Oct **o** ber 2025, we promote what we do as ‘Sing along with the Shedders’ The events we have been involved in are: - 30/10/25 League of Friends for **T** urner Memorial Hospital - 1/12/25 The Woman’s Guild X **m** as party. - 26/01/26 Hanover housing Tayl **o** r Court, Keith, resident’s group - 29/01/26 Fly and Friendship group, Fife-Keith. - 19/02/26 Hanover housing Duff **t** own resident’s group. Looking forward to the rest of the year we have return performances for each of the groups mentioned, along with a performance for the 50 **+** group, Glen Isla care home and Weston Vi **e** w care home.
