Achievements and Performance

Due to COVID-19 we have not able to hold any screening in 2021. Hopefully we can start back again at some point in 2022.

We still have our mailing list of around 400 people. We also have 80 people on our volunteering database.

We still have two years of funding from the Calton Youth Trust so can provide the dementia and autism friendly screenings when we can reopen.

We still need to find a new secretary but this was put on hold due to the pandemic.

The venue we use to hold the screenings hada fire at the end of November so is unable to be used at present. We were due to hold our AGM but as we don't have any place to meet at present and we don't know what will happen regarding this in 2022 we postponed the meeting until we have a clearer understanding of what will be possible.

Leith Community Cinema (SCIO) Trustees' Annual Report (Continued) Year ended 31 December 2021

Financial Review

Income from Grants and donations were £145.26 compared to £2,130 in 2020. We also received £5 from purchases made through Amazon Smile, where we were the chosen charity for the donation. Our expenses were £159.64, these were for the Independent Examiner and fees for web hosting.

Reserves Policy

It is the Trustees’ policy to hold reserves of approximately 6 months expenditure including designated funds. At the year end the funds held where £8,470. This is around 21 months expenditure but includes grants we have received towards screenings in 2020 that we haven't been able to use due to the pandemic and also a grant for screenings we hope to hold in 2022, therefore the Trustees’ feel this is in accordance with their policy.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006.

The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently | do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

independent examiner’s statement

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention

  1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44 (1)(a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and

to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations have not been met, or
