STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

Governing Document:

The charity is controlled by its governing document, as a Scottish Charitable incorporated Organisation.

Vacancies in the office of Trustee shall be filled up by Members appointed by the Board, declaring that the number of Trustees shall at no time be less than three.

PURPOSE, AREA of BENEFIT and BENEFITIARIES

Ballogie Community Assaciation (BCA) is established for charitable purposes only, and in particular:

The area within which BCA operates is defined in the constitution as that part of the civil parish of Birse known as Ballogie and that part of the civil parish of Aboyne which lies to the south of the River Dee and to the north of Ballogie.

ACTIVITIES and ACHIEVEMENTS

BCA was established in 2017 and registered with OSCR on the 19th of September of that year. The new organisation was established to assume responsibility for the activities previously provided through Ballogie Halli Committee. Following closure of Ballogie Hail and its eventual demolition, it was resolved that the Ballogie Hall Committee be wound up, with community activities and events coming under the auspices of the new Ballogie Community Association.

During the year, BCA held a successful Community Christmas Gathering, hosted at Potarch Cafe in December, well supported by local residents who enjoyed mulled wine, mince pies and music and carol singing.

An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, | do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.
