STRUCTURE. GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The Carse of Gowrie Men's Shed ICOGMSI is a Scottish Charitable Incorporatèd
Organizalion first registered on 29 Augusl 2017. The COGMS was previously an
unincorporated associati£￿ the assets of which w￿￿ Iransf6rred to the SCIO on
1°, S&ptemtBr 2017.
The COGMS is governed by a written wnstitution based on the lemplale
recommended by the Sccttish Men's Shed Association and has a two tier structu
wlh the Trustees being nEmbers of the charity.

of the Shed and f￿1￿ meetirys every rrK>nlh lo consider progress With the various objeGtives and
feedback from the members of the Shecl. Trustees a￿ elected at the annual ￿neral meelirTrg
which lakes place in January each year. There must be a minimum offour and a maximum Df
sevgn Trustses. The Trustees may cx>opt additK)nal Irustegs if they CA)nsider that it would b6 in
th& intarasts of tha charity to do so.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The purF%)se of the charity is to provKle recreats'onal facilities and advance the swi81 needs,
health and well being of men of all ages 8nd back grounds living in Dundee and surrounding
argas.

narnely a Men's Shed. offering opportunities for men in the Dundee and surrounding s￿8 to
meet and undertake creative, physical, and recreational activities of their choi¢e

being
- Develop the capacity of men in the area to share Iheir skills and knowledoe with others In the

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Membership continues around the high sixties wth an average daily attendance of 2round twenty five.
The membership is made up of a cross section of backgrounds wlh a wide age range 2nd 8 variety of
skills and interest5.
Equipment upgrading has induded repla￿ment of wom items and new purchases to improve
capacity..
A replacement latrle for Woodtuming Section
An additional pillar drill
A new heavy duty band saw for the machine shop.
Additional dust extraction unils and va￿uM cleaners.
To help reduce the Landlord's energy bill we have..
Replaced fluorescent ceiling lights with LED units lo redu￿ electricity consumption.
Replaced four 2.5KW fan healers with two 2KW oil filled radiators.
Switched off an unneeded water heater.
Instslled a remote ￿ntrolled limer for kitchen hot water unit.
Members have undertaken a wide range of personal projects that reflect their differing interests but
they 81so find time and energy to tackle projects for other charities and indiwduals.
A sample of some of these projects are..
We have also been given a range of donations including tools, both hand and power, materials and
consumables. These we offer to members and other organisalions al no cost.
Basic First aid courses have been held for a number of members and MO￿ are p18nned.
ASC Workshop, part of the Balhousie Care Group, some of whose members have been visiting The
Men's Shed for sever81 years and have been assisted by The Shed with donation5 of equipment, 10015
and materials. were awarded Honorary Life Membership in recognition of the work they do for men'5
health.

The trustees continue with the reserve policy target of £22,000 which is felt would be a ptudent
reserve in view of continuing uncertainty of the need to relocole.
PLANS FOR FUTURE PERIODS
The Trustees inlend lo continue lo update the strategic objectives sel for this period
lo increase membership, continue lo intèract with Ihe community at large, secure
new premises, and attracl additional funding.

Independent Examiner's Report
To The Trustees of Carse of Gowrle Men's Shed
I report on the firtrancial statements of the Charity for the period ended 31December 2024 which we
are set out on pages 5 to 8.
Respertive Responsibllities of the Tru5tee5 and Examiner
The Charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the
terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotlandl Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts
{Scotlandl Regulations 2￿6. The charity's trustseg consider that the audit requirements of the
Regulation Iolllldl of the Accounts Regulation5 does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the
accounts as required under section 44111 @ of the Act and to State whether particular matters have
Corne to my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiners Statement
My examination is carried out in accordance wtth Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotlandl
Re8ulations 2006.An examlnafjon includes are view of the accounting records kept by the charity and
a comparison of the account5 presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any
unusual items of disclosure In ihe accounts and seeks explanations frDm the trustees concerning any
sucn matter5. The procedures undertaken do not provide 311 the evidence that would be required in
an audit and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.
Independent Examiner's Ststement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
l.Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements=
-To keep accountr.ng records In accordance wlth Sethon 44llllal of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of
the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and
-To prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the
2006 Accounts Regulations have been met, or
2.To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of
the accounts to be reached.
