Initially the charity was set up to support victims of the avalanche and earthquake in Nepal in 2014/15 through a network of local residents in the village of Phortse. It has since developed into supporting and preserving the lives and culture of the Sherpa people via building projects, health care projects and educational support in the Solu Khumbu and raising awareness of the Sherpa culture across the globe.

Objectives: The organisations purposes are the prevention or relief of poverty, the advancement of education and the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage by: Providing relief to children in the Phortse location, disadvantaged families in the Solokhumbo region of Nepal and relief to Sherpa families experiencing hardship Providing relief from poverty and promoting the education of children who no longer have the support of a parent in work Providing health and nutrition guidance to mothers and children where the family no longer has a parent in work Improving the condition of Phortse School
