The charity was set up to run and manage the village hall after the local authority declared closure. The charity's ultimate aim is to purchase the property and to continue the management, operation and improvement of the facility for the benefit of the community of Kirkcowan parish(CC area).

Objectives: To further or benefit the residents of Kirkcowan parish and the neighbourhood, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents
