Activities and Achievements

It has been an enjoyable and busy time for Angus Voice, I would like to thank our Board and Project Worker for all hard work and management of our Charity.

During this period our schedule has been packed and I will highlight some of our achievements.

We have secured a further year’s funding from Angus Health and Social Care Partnership which will allow us funds to promote our exciting and highly valuable work.

To bring in more money we have had successful Quiz night and also a sponsored walk. Which our members thoroughly enjoyed.

Angus Voice continues to run two walking groups one in Arbroath and other in Forfar. Our members enjoy this immensely.

We also on Thursday in conjunction with Change Mental Health run a Bothy Meeting at an open garden near our office where members can relax and chat which is beneficiary to their mental health.

Members participated in Mental Health Awareness Week also in this period.

Angus Voice continues to be involved in local mental health meetings collaborating with similar organisations and working to share vision with NHS Tayside and also Angus Health and Social Partnership.

Meetings include: Suicide Prevention Neurodevelopmental NHS Tayside Strategy meetings Angus Mental Health and Wellbeing Awareness meetings

I as Chair during this period went to Glasgow for a meeting to support Early Intervention in Psychosis Angus Voice have also co-worked with Angus museums to support Therapets and to showcase our Charity.

Other exciting events include our work alongside Coop to facilitate a Grief Café in Forfar which could allow us more opportunities for funding through Coop.

Also during this period, we have been attending and facilitating a forum on improving Mental Health by being more physically active.

Finally, Angus Voice are currently supporting work on the opening of a new Wellbeing centre in Angus which would be highly beneficial to those with mental health issues locally.

Members also thoroughly enjoyed a Christmas Meal.

Lets hope all our hard work continues to benefit our community.
