The trustees present their report and Ihe financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2025.
The trustee8 who served during the year and up to the date of this report are set out on page 3.
Constitution
The Charity is a Scottish Charitable IncoL])orated Organisation (a SCIO). It was registered in

its currcnt Icgal forn] on 21 June 2017. The trustees are responsible for the administration and
direction of the chartty.
It has a single tier structure and as such the trustees are the membcrs of the charity.
Structure) governance and management
The organisation is <1 rcgistcrcd Scolt18h Charity. The charity Constitution cstablishes the
objects and powers of. the charity. The Board of Trustecs currently has 5 membcrs who mect
evcry quarter and are responsible for the strategic direction and policy of the organisation
t()gL'thcr with sound financial and operational control. The charity has assessed the inajor
risks lo which Ihe charity is cxposed and is satisfied thal systems and procedures are in place
to mitigdte our Lxposure to the m<ijur risk.s, althoug7h no formal risk asscssmenl has takLn
place.
Recruitment and appointment of Trustees
Al l of thc charity's trustees are appointed or reappointed by the members at the annual general meeting.

The prevcntion or relief of poverty both in UK and over8e&s.
The advancement of education both in UK and overseas.

The rclicf of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or
other disadvantage both in UK and overseas.

A¢hievements and performance
Building on the successes of the previous ycar, SWRFN Charitable Trust conlinuLd to
support shortlrnedium temi projects in the UK and overseas totalling £30,520 (2024..
£39,009) for thc year. Our main partner for the year was World Care Foundation. We
supported both in the development and growth of orphanages in l.ebanon and Pakislan. We
continued to support local UK projccts ranging from foodbanks to youth initiatives.

continuous support for an orphanag7e in Pakistan.

Financial review
The results for the year are sct out in the statement of financial activities on pag?e 7.
The reserves of the Trust arise from original and subscquent rcvcnue donations. At the end ot
the current year. the charity had unrcstricted thds ot" £38,282 (2024 . £32,128)
Income and expenditure are monitored in total on a regular basis to ensure Ihe continuing ability
ot'thc Trust to meet its objectives.

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of thc accounts in accordance with
thc tLrnis ot. the Charities and Truslee Investmenl (SLotland) Act 2005 (the Act) and the
Charitics Accounts {S¢oiland) Regulations 2006. The L'hurily's trustees consider that the audit
requiremenl ofRegulation l O(1 ) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. I laving

Basis of Independent examiner's statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation I l ot the Charities AccounLs
(Scotland) Rcgulations 2006. An cxamination includes a review of the aLcounting records
kept by the charity and a comparison of the account8 presented with those records. It also
includes cr)nsiderati(In of any unusual itern8 or disclosures in the accounts. and sccks
expl<inations from ihe trugtees concerning any such matters. The pri)Lediircs iindertaken do
not provide all the evidcncc that would be requircd in an audiL and congequently I do not
exprcss an uudit opinion on wh¢th¢r thc accounts present a 'true and f'air view,.

l Accountillg policies
J'he accounts are prepared under the historical cost convention and include the r¢sult5
of the I"rust's operations, all of which are continuing. The aLcounts have been
compiled in accordance with the Statement of Recommeiided Practice - "Accounting
and Rcporting by Charitics" (SORP 2005), and comply with thc Charitics and Trustee
Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations
2006 (as amended)
Unrestrieted funds
F.xpendable at the discretion of the Trustees in furthcrance of the objectives of The
SWKFN Cliaritable "I'rust.
Incoming resources
Income from donations, gifts and legacies is accounted for in the in¢ome and
cxpcnditurc account on a cash basis. All other incomc is accounted for on an acLriials
basis.
Grants
Granls comprise tliose paid in the accounting period and, when applicable, include grants
payable in future accounting periods where there exists a Icgal obligation to make such
payincnts.
Resources expended and irrecoverable VAT
Resources expended are included in the accounts on an accruals basis. Irrecoverable
VAT is included in ihe relaled expenditure.
Ch(il'itable activities include expenditurc associated with grant making.
Governance costs include ihose incurred in the gyovernance of the charity and
its assets and are primarily associated witli coiistitutional and statutory
requirements.
Statement of financial activities
This slalemenl, produced to comply with the St<ltement of Recommended Practice
effcctively incorporates the inLome expenditurc account in a different formaL
fomiing a single statemcnt of all movcments between opening and ¢losing fund balances.
