To advance education within the community of Bute and to advance heritage, culture and science pertinent to the Isle of Bute and its surroundings

Objectives: The organisation is established for charitable purposes only, and in particular, the objects are: to advance education within the community of Bute. This would be achieved by 1.1 providing a platform to educate the general public in all aspects of the Archaeology, History and Natural History of Bute, its former county and surrounding area. 1.2 promoting and organising exhibitions, conferences, lectures and study tours for members, the local community, visitors and visiting study groups. 1.3 promoting and undertaking research on the surrounding area, disseminating the results through publications, visual and aural material. 1.4 securing the publication of Transactions and accept encourage and commission appropriate publications and journals. 1.5 providing structured opportunities to schools and other groups within the community to learn about their historical and natural environment. to advance heritage, culture and science pertinent to the Isle of Bute and its environs. This would be achieved by 1.6 providing and maintaining a local museum for the benefit of the community and visitors to the Island of Bute. 1.7 advancing understanding of the flora, fauna and geology of the former County of Bute. 1.8 creating and maintaining databases on the natural and cultural environment of the Isle of Bute, and ensuring such material is publicly accessible
