Activities and achievements

In May 2024 the Society performed their first musical production, Sunshine on Leith. The show was a massive success both creatively and financially for the Society. The production elevated the Society’s status as a musical theatre group in Dundee. Additionally, as part of our continuing efforts to support the community in Dundee, we donated 40 tickets to intensive care nursing staff at Ninewells Hospital.

In December 2024 the Society produced it’s third unique Panto, “Bah Humbug”. After a break from Panto, the show was very well received by audiences. Again, we ran a successful charity ticket campaign working with local businesses to donate 130 panto experiences to 3 local charities: Dundee Bairns, Rock Solid, Stobswell Forum. Whilst the show was a creative success, we made a small loss on the show.

Overall, the financial year 2024/2025 has been hugely successful for the Society.

Trustee remuneration and expenses

The trustees did not receive any remuneration or expenses during the year.

Reserves

The Society holds £10,253 (2024 - £8,670).

Respective responsibilities of the Committee and Examiner

The Committee (who are the charity’s trustees for the purposes of charity law) are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.
