Structure, governance and management Type of governing document The Charity is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (a SCIO). It was registered in its current legal form on 3 May 2017.

Objectives and activities

Charitable purposes a) To advance public participation in sport in Blantyre and the surrounding areas by providing programmes and activities that engage physical and mental application which are accessible to all, regardless of ability, gender, age or religion.

b) To provide recreational facilities and activities through establishing a community artificial sports pitch in order to improve the conditions of life of participants.

Summary of the main activities in relation to these objects We have now agreed a long-term lease with Blantyre Victoria FC to take over the running of their Football stadium and changing rooms. This lease has now been signed by all parties and is in place to make Blantyre Victoria Community Club the tenant of the KG Stadium. We have applied for numerous grants from various organisations to enable our plan to renovate the football pitch from grass to astroturf.

We have a design in place for the works as well as construction quotes. Planning permission from the local council has also been granted for the proposed works.

We have started funding applications for both the SFA and Sportscotland. This year we have continued to run many free football sessions for young children with the help of Blantyre Victoria Youth FC. During these sessions we also educate local children on the benefits of eating a healthy diet and exercising.
