Objectives and activities
The Coalition was set up with the aim of improving the lives of people in Scotland living with
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and their families and carers.
The objectives ot the organisation are to-
Provide support, education and practical advice to people living with ADHD and their
families, including building the capacity of voluntary support groups across Scotland
to run effective, sustainable support for people with ADHD and related conditions
Advance the education of the general public in all areas relating to ADHD.. and
Advocate for people with ADHD in Scodand and their families, in particular by raising
awareness ofADHD across Scottish public services (including the NHS, educational
establishments. local authorities, the police for￿ and the criminal justice system} in
order to improve diagnosis, treatment and support for people with ADHD and related
conditions. The establishment of the Coalition reflected recognition of a number of
challenges: Support for people with ADHD is patchy. Leaders of local ADHD support
groups often find themselves isolated and this results in a lack of sustain8bilty.
The last year for the Coalition has been challenging and activities were restricted. The main
achievements were as follows..
We held our 2024 AGM on Tuesday 20 May 2025 that reviewed the achievements
of the Coalition work throughout the year.

- Regular contact with Special Interest Group regarding adult ADHD with particular respect to services and medication crisis group

- Visit to Royal College of Psychiatrists

- Chair was co-author of the paper with UKADHD Partnership regarding assessment of ADHD in children and young people (The ADHD Assessment Quality Assurance Standard for Children and Teenagers (CAAQAS) - PubMed)
