The Trust provides bursaries and scholarships for pupils to study at Robert Gordon's College. Aberdeen. through the investment of funds thereby generating income for bursaries and scholarships. Financial Review The Trust made payments to Robert Gordon's College for scholarships amounts.ng to £26,364. The Trust aims to ensure that there is sufficient revenue funds to meet its day-to-day fvnding requirements. At 31 March 2025 there was closing cash balance of £38,208 of which £8,380 was held in the Trust's endo￿nent fund 8nd £29,828 was unrestricted. Structure, Governance and Management The Trust was founded by dated 9 June 1995 and registered in the Books of Council and Session on June 12 1996 ranted otherwise known as Statement of trustees, responslbllltles The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees. Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice). The law applicable to charities in Scotland requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the stste of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the trustees are required to: select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP; make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed. subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements: prepare the financial statements on the going concem basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation. The trustees are responsible for keeping accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, the Charities Accounts (Scotland> Regulations 2006 (as amended) and the provisions of the charity's constitution. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. In accordance with the terms of the Deed of Settlement. the assets of the Charity are applied exclusively for charitable purposes within the terms of the Charities Investments and Trustees (Scotland) Act 2005. BURNETh TRUST INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES I report on the accounts of the charty for the year ended 31 March 2025 which are set out on pages 3 to Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 {as amended). The charrty trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (a) to (c) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the 8ccounts as required under sect'on 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basls of Independent examlner's statement My examination is caThied out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented wtth those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees conceming any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. Independent 8xamln8r's statement In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention: which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44{1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations: and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations; have not been met: (x to which. in my opinion. attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
