Objectives: 4.1 The advancement of education - Providing support for young people with autism and disadvantaged young people, teaching social coping mechanisms through animation, art and film workshops alongside teaching new skills such as visual communication, traditional animation, film making skills etc 4.2 The promotion of equality and diversity - Square Peg focuses on not only raising awareness about autism but also promoting acceptance for people with autism. We wish to do this through the creative voices of young people with autism speaking for themselves. Through our Autfest Film and arts festival and the creative product of film, animation or art work. 4.3 The advancement of citizenship or community development - Square Peg encourages social inclusion of young people with autism, We carry out workshops in different areas of Scotland bringing together Young people with autism working alongside and with neurotypical young people from same area who are also perceived as disadvantaged. 4.4 The provision of recreational facilities, or the organization of recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. Our workshops not only give young people a creative and productive outlet but also teach Social coping mechanisms, Independence, Visual communication skills, Cognition and emotional skills, Team work and Problem solving skills.
