Differabled Scotland SCIO is a non-profit organisation with its membership drawn from across Scotland. The overall objective is to create a movement of social change within our communities, in terms of educating those that will engage with individuals with ASD at crucial transitions in their life; our main aim is to fully integrate individuals with ASD into all aspects of society. To do this we coordinate & deliver a series of support groups, training opportunities workshops & information seminars to our service users free of charge; we also deliver ‘parenting skills’ courses (the content covered includes Parenting children with ASN, Educational Inclusion and Communicating with Professionals). We currently have three Charity Trustees with a wide array of skills and experience, all our Trustees have ‘lived experience’ of the issues ‘Differabled Scotland SCIO’ was established to address, re: ASD, which has been of huge benefit to our organisation, and our development over the previous 12 months. Moving forward we will continue to provide opportunities for education, development and growth for individuals and agencies who want to make our communities more inclusive. During the last year Differabled Scotland SCIO has been successful in securing income totalling £194,664 that has allowed us to continue to deliver our services free to our service users continuously over the previous 12 months. This enabled Differabled to continue their rolling programme of Neurodiversity Training/Awareness sessions and peer support to families of neurodivergent individuals. This raised further awareness of Invisible Disability and the neuro-minority within our local communities. In 2024/25 we were successful securing funds totalling £181,114, from the following funders: Glasgow City Council (£59,170), The National Lottery (£77,737), The Robertson Trust (£14,300), East Dunbartonshire Council (£12,067), GCVS Glasgow Wellbeing Fund (£9,880), NHS (£4,960) and Essentia Funding (£3,000). We also received Donations totalling £5,475, secured £4,870 via Fundraising and were able to generate income of £3,205 through Training Delivery, meaning for the year 2024/25 we had a total income of £194,664. The total expenditure for the previous 12months was £154,270, giving us a surplus of £40,394 for the year, but as we were able to carry forward £34,712 from the previous year, as of 1[st] February 2025 Differabled Scotland SCIO has a net worth of £75,106. **Statement of Responsibilities of Members** **OFFICIAL** ## **OFFICIAL** The committee members are responsible for the preparation of the accounts for each financial year which gives a true and fair review of the state of affairs at the end of the year and of its results for that period. In preparing those accounts the members are required to; - Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently. - Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent - State whether applicable accounting standards have been followed - Prepare the accounts on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to assume that the scheme will continue The committee members are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the project and which will enable them to comply with accounting procedures of The Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990 and The Charities Accounts (Scotland) regulations 1992. As a Scottish charity they must also comply with the applicable terms and provisions of the Charities & Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. They are responsible for safeguarding the assets of the organisation and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud or other irregularities. We shall continue to work to deliver the successful assistance and help required by our service users to the consistently high standard we have been renowned for. Date: _30th October 2025_ **Independent Examiner** ’ **s Notes on Differabled Scotland SCIO Receipts & Payments Statement** **OFFICIAL** **OFFICIAL** ## **1[st] February 2024 – 31[st] January 2025** ## **Statement of Responsibilities of Trustees & Independent Examiner** The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. ## **Basis of independent examiner** ’ **s statement** My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts. ## **Independent examiner** ’ **s statement** In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention 1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: • to keep accounting records in accordance with section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and • to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations have not been met, or 2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. ## **Introduction** Differabled Scotland SCIO was formally recognised as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SC047129) and established in January 2017. I have examined the financial records, letters of award, pay ins and expenditure of the group for the period 2024/25 and find them to correspond with their Receipts and Payments statements for the year under consideration. With specific reference to this accounting period I should just like to state that after examination of the group’s financial records I have no specific recommendations to make regarding the group’s methods of recording or accounting practice as they all conform to the statutory requirements for an organisation of its size and nature. Further no other issues of concern were raised in any pertinent matter with regard to Differabled Scotland SCIO (SC047129) accounts for this year. ## **Notes** 1. There was no element of depreciation for the year. 2. No Trustee has received any remuneration in 2024/2025.
