The trustees present their report with the financial statement of the charity forthe period l April 2024
to 31 March 2025. The trustees have adopted the Statement of Recommended Practice (SOP)

STRUCWRE. GOVERANCE AND MANAGEMENT

The Chartty is controlled by its governing document and deed of trust.
The project is recognised as charity in Scotland, is registered as a SCIO (Scottish Charitable
Incorporated Organisation) and was set up by a model constitution on 15* November 2016.
Recrultrnent and appolntment of new trustee5
The ManagerrEnt of the charlty IS the responsibllrty of the trustees who a￿ elected under the terms
the constitution.
Risk Mana8ernent
The trustees have a duty to Klentify and review the risks to whith the charity is exposed and to ensure
appropriate controls are in place to provide reasonable assurance against fraud and error.
Constltution
The Charity is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, registered on 16 November 2016, The
a5setsof the previous unincorporated club were transferred to the SCIO on 16 Novernber 2016. It has
a sin8le tier structure.
Trustees are elected at the Annual General Meeting which is held in Marth annually and there must
be a minimum of three.

Objectlves and Artlvtt
The club meets for pursuits of photographic enjoyment and learning and is open to all.
Meetings are held fortnightly on a Wednesday nights frorn early September to early April.
During this year we had more instructions in the use of Photoshop and li8ht room planned for the
beneffts forall members but again Covid has changed that.
The club normally takes part In competlllons wlth f￿r other clubs from in towns around us and also
have entries in the Agricultural competition held in neighbouring town as well as hosting the Border
Photographic Exhibition. This is open to all which attracts entries from far a field and is judEed by a
different independent judge every year. This is held in the local church hall which has kttchen and
disabled access facilities. Usually attracting over 2(K) entries of mounted prints and over l(MJ projected
images. Over 80 people from other clubs and rnembers of the public normally ascend on the opening
ni8ht when Trophies and Certificates are awarded to the winners. Then we provide Food and coffee
tea provided by the members SCC.
The club also provide speakers and judges from other towns when requested. The club now went to
fortni8htty due to Covid
Finanaal Revlew
With the redurtion in membership and the increase in insurance and energy costs we are no lon8er
able to meet our output needs from our MernbersAnnual Subscriptions. this has been the trend since
Covid.
The Border Phot(graphic Exhibitlon contlnues to be our main fundraisirE Event
Future Plans
The syllabusfor the year 2025/2026 is almost complete with a wide range of demonstrations, speakers
and competttions. We hope we will again be tsking part in the 3-way competition with other clubs and
host the 'Border PhotO8raphic Exhibition" in February 2026
We are also looklng to sell the premises to save costs and use the funds to support the club continuing
in the future
