Dunard Fund has the primary purpose of promoting and advancing the arts across the UK, principally by making donations for: 1. the training and performance of classical music at the highest standard. 2. the education and display of visual arts at an international standard. and 3. the rehabilitation of endangered architectural masterpieces and the design and development of new architectural masterpieces. Dunard Fund provides support annually to a selection of regional and national charities which support or perform classical music and opera at an international standard, other charities involved in other aspects of the arts, culture, architecture and the environment. Dunard Fund has particularly committed support for two major capital projects, one the creation of a 1,000-seater state of the art concert hall in the heart of Edinburgh, and the other the rescue and restoration of the 200 year old neo-classical building at the former Royal High School below Calton Hill in Edinburgh.

Objectives: The Charitable Purposes of Dunard Fund ('the Charitable Purposes') are for the advancement for public benefit of: 3.1.1 education. 3.1.2 health and saving of lives. 3.1.3 citizenship and community development. 3.1.4 the arts, heritage and culture. 3.1.5 the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational facilities, in order to improve the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. and/ or 3.1.6 environmental protection or improvement.
