Recruitment and appointment of Trustees
3[rd] Falkirk Boys Brigade trustees are appointed and reappointed by the members at our AGM, which is held in August each year. The Executive Committee and other officers of the Company meet on a quarterly basis. The Trustee’s and the officers are aware of their responsibilities for health & safety, especially for the children. In addition, all our officers and volunteers have disclosures under the Protection of Vulnerable Group (PVG) scheme.
At the last AGM held on the 23[rd] July 2025 David Young advised he was stepping down as a trustee due to work commitments. At the same meeting all agreed to become trustee and were voted in at the AGM.
Governing Document
3[rd] Falkirk Boys’ Brigade is a charitable unincorporated company and the purposes and administration are set out in our constitution. The company was granted charitable status by OSCR on 25th August 2016.
Charitable Purposes
Our purposes, as recorded in our constitution, are to promote the object of The Boys’ Brigade which is “The advancement of Christ's kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness." To develop, through a series of suitable programmes of activities and instruction, the abilities of the boy in a progressive manner appropriate to his age and capabilities and to encourage leadership qualities.
Activities and Achievements
At the end of August 2024, the company started the session with the number of members static from the previous session. The company had 61 boys split over the three sections (10 Anchors, 25 Junior and 26 Company Section). The boys were supported by 11 officers and helpers.
During the session all sections participated in various activities including football, arts & crafts, drill, First Aid, cross country, cooking, national and local intercompany competition to name a few.
At the end of the year the boys were presented with the various badges they worked towards and gained throughout the year. This included 9 boys who achieve the Presidents badge the second highest award in the Boys Brigade.
During the year many fund raising events were held for trip to Chamonix which is booked for August 2025.
Trustee remuneration and expenses
The trustees did not receive any remuneration or expenses during the year.
Reserves
The company ran at a small loss (-1,017.98) for this financial year. As a result of this loss, the company held unrestricted funds of £5,273.93 at the year end.
The committee consider the general funds of £5,273.93 will enable us to continue to run the company in all three sections. The committee have agreed to keep all fees / subscription at the same rate as the previous year given the ongoing financial constraints on family’s.

Independent Examiner’s Report to 3 Falkirk Boys Brigade
| report on the Income/Expenditure statement of the 3"° Falkirk Boys Brigade for the year ended 31* July 2025 a copy of which is attached. The 3 Falkirk Boys Brigade is a registered charity number $C046807, and | have carried out an independent examination based on procedures required for a registered charity.
Responsibility of the examiner
The Officers of the 3 Falkirk Boys Brigade consider that an audit is not required for this year and that and independent examination is appropriate.
Basis of independent examiner’s statement
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the charity commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by 3 Falkirk Boys Brigade and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the Officers concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaking do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently | do not express and audit opinion on the accounts.

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention {other than that disclosed below]
