Charitable purposes
Vets with Horsepower is a group of consultant level. UK based equine
veterinary surgeons who undertake enduran￿ motorcycle trips to delNer
Conts"nuing ProfesSi(￿al Development lectures to other vet￿l￿ary
surgeons and lay ￿pIe. The money raised by these endeavours is
donated to equire and thild charities in devek)ping counlries, most
Common￿ in Africa. The money is used by the recipient charities to fund
education ￿ owners of horses and dcffikeys in developing countries lo
improve equine hearth welfare and increase the productivity of the families
who own Ihe equines.
Summary of the main activities
in relation to these objects
Since startiThJ in 2010. the annual tows have included the UK and Ireland.
Contsnental Europe. Northem Afn"ca, the Baltic States, Russia and
Scandinavia. all via motorcycles. At each venue local vets attend the
lecture $ess￿s. fvnds are raised by private donations and sponsorship
and donatsons frcrfn lecture attendees. To date the chartty has raised over
£1,067,1)JO.

Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of Advancement of edu(8tion and animal welfare.. On several of the tours to
the charity during the financial period date, a separate leclure stream has been delwered to non-veterinary
surgeons. These are usualty horse 0￿er$ or people in the equine
industy and by increasing their knO￿edge, we aim to improve the welfare
of horses and donkeys in their care, while rai%ng fvnds for equines in
other cc￿nIn"e$. When the money raised is dc￿ated to the overseas
charTkn"es. sc¥ne is used for edUCab"c￿ for the owners of equids and the
remainder ts animal health and welfare.

All monies raised each year are dtstrityjted to that year's beneficiaries. A
nominal swn is retsined to keep the bank aco)unt open.

Donated facilities and services {rf any) AJI lecture stops are organised by"l¢xal organisers". They reffliit local
sponsorship to fiJThJ accommodat￿n and ftx)d lo allow minimal
expenditure on suth by the charity. All nders donate their own time aTrd
experts"se. They also provide their own motorcycles which they have
insured and serviced and also purchased any visas required for overseas
travel.

I report on thÈ actounts of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2024 which are set out on
pages I to 4.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
Thè charity's trustees 3re Yèsponsik)le for ihe preparadon of the accounts In accordance with the temis of rhe
Charitres and Trustee Investment (Scotlandl Act 2005 and the Charities
Accounts (Scotlandl Regulations 2006 las amended). The charity trustees consSder that thE audlt
requirement of Regulation 10111 Idl of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is mv
re5ponsiblllty to exam ine the account5 as requ ired under section 4411) Icl of the Act and to state
whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basls of Independentexamlnerfs statement
My examination 15 carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations.
An examination Include5 a revlew of the accounting records kept by the charlty and a comparlson
of the accounts presented with those records. It also Includes consideratlon of any unusual Item5 Qr
disclosures in the accounts 8nd seek5 explanations from the trustees concerning any such rnatters,
The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and
consequently I do not express an audlt opinion orb the vlew glven by the accounts.

In the course of My examination, no matter has come to my attentlon
which give5 me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
to keep accountlng records in accordance with Section 44111 la} of the 2005 Act and
Règulation 4 of the 2006 Atcounts Regu latlons
to prepare accounts whlch accord wlth the accounting records and comply wlth Re8ulation
