SAPALD is set up to strengthen and support parents of adults with learning disabilities helping them to choose a safe and appropriate route of support for when they are not able to support and be with them anymore. This includes helping them to advocate with public services, provide written support, campaign on issues, such as appropriate housing. We also create social and leisure opportunities for parents and carers to get together.

Objectives: The organisation?s purposes are: 4.1 To provide relief to those in need by reason of disability, and 4.2 To provide recreational facilities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities are primarily intended, and their families, by the establishment of permanent residential respite and residential facilities in the south Angus area.
