Rainbow House Grangemouth Spiritualist Church
Charity number SC046643
ANNUAL REPORT
May 2024 - April 2025
The following were trustees and re elected during the above period
Why was the church established?
The church was established in 2007 and was registered as a charity on the 23 June 2015.
its purpose is
To undertake religious activities
Undertake activities and events for both the members and the wider community Provide grants or donations to others.
Who does it help?
A major focus is to support vulnerable adults and/or families within the community and members of the church. It does this through direct support or in partnership with community organisations, relevant Council departments and voluntary organisations who work in the community with vulnerable families.
|
What was done and achieved?
Church membership is currently 53
-
e Church services were held every week and spiritual healing was offered
-
e Donations of food were given to vulnerable members of the church on a regular basis.
-
e Continued sponsorship of a young Cambodian cir TE through World Vision Cambodia. Additional donation was made to enable the wider Soutr Nikom community to be more self sufficient
-
¢ Worked with Falkirk Council Children’s Services, including Intensive family support staff, to provide, through an appeal to church members, new pyjamas and toys to families at Christmas time.
-
e Monetary donation to Grangemouth Children’s Gala day
-
e Community events: Regular bingo sessions, arts and crafts day, Diwali celebration. These are all open to the wider community as well as church members
|
|
-
e Support to community organisations/individuals through fund raising activities. e Support to people who are homeless by giving donations of goods
-
What impact did this make? e Vulnerable members of the church knew that every week they received hot wholesome food and this contributed to their feeling of well-being and part of the church community.
-
e The Soutr Nikom community reported that the donations helped to provide ¢lean drinking water and access to basic latrines. For children this means better health and education and brighter futures
-
e Falkirk Council Children’s Services staff reported that all the families appreciated the Christmas gifts and that it eased some of the pressure at that time of year. The demand for this has increased steadily over the years and is indicative of the rising levels of poverty. This means changing the method of distribution to ensure the most effective and fast means for distribution. The family services’ staff have accepted these changes and submit information as soon as it is asked for.
-
e¢ The Grangemouth Children’s gala day was able to proceed in the usual way. Grants for these activities are becoming more difficult to access but continues to be an important community event that brings families together.
-
e The community events are good fun and help to reduce social isolation and loneliness.
-
e The fund raising contributes to the ongoing costs for some groups. For example raising monies for a child to receive medical attention which it is not possible to access in this country. Fund raising also supports community organisations to purchase necessary equipment or materials. Again increased pressure on family incomes can make it difficult for some families to provide these and may limit their child’s involvement in activities.
A big Thank You !
All of the above would not be possible without the hard work and commitment of the trustees and the volunteers who come every week to ensure the church service runs smoothly and also assist in the setting up and delivery of the full range of activities
