Blackford HiEhland Games is a Scottish charitable organisation mgrsaged bya committee
of volunteer truslees who are responsible lor the overall governance and adrninistration
of the charity. Trustees and committee members are 8PPOlllted in accordance with the
charity's governing document and meet regularly throughout the year to oversee the
planninE. organisation and delivery ol the annual Highland Gamey. The charity relies
heavily on ihe commitment ol volunteers and the support of local busineyses, sponsors
and comrnynity organisations.
2 Charltable Purposes
The charity exists to advance Scottish culture and heritage by organising the annual
Blackford Highland Games and associated activities for the benefit of the local
community and visitors. The Games promote traditional Highland sports, Highland
dancing, piping gnd wider community participation.
3 Activities and Achievements
The principal activity during the year was the su¢¢essful organisation and delivery of the
2025 Bla¢kford Highland Games. Despite poor weather late in the afternoon, the rain did
not arrive until 4pm allowing the majority of events to complete successfully.
The Committee remains grateful lorthe continued support received from sponsors. grk)nt
providers. local businesses and volunteers. Sponsorship Continued to play an important
role in enabling individu81 competilions, including Highland Dan¢ing, while grant funding
helped support the delivery ol the event. The Committee also coniinued to recognise
sponsors through the Games website 2nd promotional activities.
4 Public Bgngfit
In carrying out its activities. Ihe trustees have had due regard to the Charity Regulator's
guidance on publie benefit.
The annual Highland Garnes provide an accessible community event celebrating
Scottish sporting traditions, music, dance and culture. The event benefits residents.

visitors. local performers, ¢ompetitors and businesses while helping preserve an
important local tradition.
5 Flnancial Review
Income forthe yeartotalled £22,352, derived principallylrom gate reeeipts. Sponsorship,
Erants. st811 income and equipment hire. Expenditure totalled £22.726, resulting in a
deficit of £374 for the year. The charity finished the year with reconciled bank and cash
bal8nc¢s of £24,875.
Although a small operating deficit was incurred, the trustees consider the charity to
remain in a sound financial position, with healthy reserves available to support future
Games and ongoing investment in equipment and improvemenls.
During the year expenditure reflected the continued delivery of a high-quality evenl
together wilh investment in visitor facilities, entertainment and competition
Infrastructure.
6 Ros*rves Poll¢y
The trustees aim to maintain sufficient unrestricted reserves to ensure the annual Games
can continue in the event of unforeseen reductions in income or increases in
expenditure, and to provide funds for replacement of equipment and future development
of the event.

The Committee intends to continue developingihe Blackford Highland Games by..
Maintaining the high standard of the traditional sporting and cultural

8TTUStees' Responsibilities
The trustees are responsible for preparing the annual accounts in accordance w1th
applicable law and the Charit￿1$ and Trustee Investment (Scotlandl Act 2005 and
associated Regulations.
The trustees are responsible lor keeping proper accounting records, safegu8rding the
assets of the charity and taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of
fraud and other irregularities.
