BURRELTON TENNIS CLUB SC046613 REPORT AND ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR TO 31 DECEMBER 2024 ourreltoo
Although our name suggestswe are a tennis club. unfortunately I have to report that not much tennis w88 pLay8d in thisfinancialyoar, oth8rthan social tennis. The Club started off well ptaying in both the Strathmore snd Perth & District leagues but due to injuries and other personaL commitments we had to pull out of both competitions. Addrtionally, wowere unable to run our own tournaments due to these reasons and a lackof member response. My report, therefor4 basically comprises all the socialevents we managed to organise. In February some of us had an aftemoon session 8t the ten-pin bowling slley in Dundee and this proved to be a great success. Followingthis we ran a charity shop in Coupar Angus in March and whiLsl thiswas h8rd work members enjoyed njnning it and itwas quite profitable forthe Club funds. April s8Wthe start of waLkingtennis and Gardioworkouts and ourthanks go to or putting us through our paces. June was a very busy month for some of the memberswho attended a curry night at Murrayshall and later in the month saw Footloose at Pitlochry Festival Theatre- a great day out. In Augustthe Club did our biggest ever sociaLlfund raising event with our Murder Mystery and Curry Night at Abbey Church, Coupar Angus. This was verywell attended, and we managed to feed over 100 people on the night. Abigthankyou to everyone involved- the curry makers, the kitchen staff, the actors and Ihe audience. A few of us carried out marshalling3t the blueberry farm but sadly on the first date it was very wet. so we did notget many pickers. Thankfullythe second marshalling date was more successful. October was the clubhouse and groundsigarden clear up and for allthose members helping out on the d8y. rovided lunch In November we had anothervisitio Pitlochry FesiivalTheatre to see Tlie Sound of Music but sadlythe weatherwas against us. This resulted in Iwo separate visits to see the show, but it was wellworth itand everyonewhowent agreed itwas the best show we had seen so far. Our Christmas lunchwas once again held atThe Tavern in Ardler and was enjoyed by all who attended. Finally. a bigthankyou to everyonewho organised these social events and to allwho attended them. fhank you to everyone foryourcontinued support ofthe Club and for enjoying the tennis and eventsthat are organised. I wouLd like to thankthe Trustees and Board fortheir continuing8UPPOrt and hardwork throughout1he year.
