Activities
'It carries out activities or services itself'
'the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended','the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage'
The Saturday Café Clubs SCIO provides fun, inclusive respite opportunities for children and young people with complex additional support needs, while offering vital short breaks for their parents and carers. We deliver weekend, evening and school holiday clubs, creating safe, nurturing environments where participants can build friendships, develop social and life skills, and enjoy meaningful activities led by trained staff and volunteers. Our services reduce isolation, support wellbeing, and strengthen family resilience. By offering consistent, high-quality sessions, we enable carers to rest, spend time with other family members, and attend to everyday tasks, improving quality of life for the whole family.
Objectives: This Clause shall be interpreted as if it incorporates an over-riding qualification limiting the powers of THE SATURDAY CAFE CLUBS such that any activity furthers a purpose, which is regarded as charitable. Subject to that overriding qualification, the organisation's principle aim is to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time activity with the object of improving the conditions of life for the benefit of disabled children and disabled young people in the City of Glasgow and adjoining authorities, without distinction of political, religious or other options. A secondary aim is to provide a short-break from care (respite) for care providers of the aforementioned disabled children and young people. The organisation's main purposes are: 4.1 To provide opportunities for play and fun for disabled children and young people who are Members of the organisation 4.2 To provide respite from care of the aforementioned disabled children and young people for the parent{s), care providers and extended support including siblings and extended families 4.3 To provide the necessary qualified staff, volunteers, facilities and equipment to promote play and fun in a healthy, safe environment which caters for the individual care, recreation and well being of each Member 4.4 To advance the social skills and social development of Members in the provision of activities which challenge and stimulate, whilst providing play opportunities in a fun safe environment to promote independence and create a sense of interdependence in the Clubs 4.5 To fundraise to support the aims of the organisation 4.6 To co-operate with statutory and voluntary bodies to benefit and support the organisation's aims and to do all things which are lawful to promote the organisations aims
