Our mission is to provide equal access to inspire and realise the full potential of future generations, through facilitating cost-effective collaboration with industry and education. SmartSTEMs' main charitable objectives are: · For all young people have equal access to a quality STEM education. · For more young people choose STEM subjects at secondary level. · For more students enter tertiary education to study STEM subjects. · Increased opportunities for young people to pursue a pathway into a STEM career. · Greater collaboration between education and business.

Objectives: 6.1 The SCIO will promote, advance and further charitable purposes primarily by operating to encourage and promote (through support to and collaboration with charities, community groups, universities, colleges, schools and others) skills, opportunities, awareness and enjoyment of science, technology, engineering and mathematics ('STEM') subjects in young people (primarily, but not exclusively, young females and those who may face barriers, for whatever reason, to engage them with STEM subjects). The promotion of STEM subjects in young people will be aimed from primary school age upwards to ensure young people do not miss out on the skills, opportunities and enjoyment that STEM subjects can bring to them and so that society does not miss out the development of these crucial skills for current and future generations. 6.2 For the purposes of the 2005 Act, the following charitable purposes are (i) particularly relevant and (ii) are the charitable purposes identified as applicable from section 7 of the 2005 Act:- 6.2.1 the advancement of education. and 6.2.2 the advancement of science. 6.3 For the purposes of the Taxes Acts the provisions set out in clauses 6.1 and 6.2 shall be read together to ensure the charitable purposes of the SCIO are compliant with the Taxes Act.
