**What the charity does:** The School Bank West Lothian is making a difference to children and parents across our West Lothian communities, preparing for the school day. We are a volunteer-led group aiming to improve the lives of children in families in West Lothian experiencing financial hardship by providing them with a brand new school uniform and other clothing and equipment required for the school day. The uniforms are distributed by referral from organisations working with families. We do not liaise directly with families. We accept referrals from professionals in the community such as Head Teachers, Social Workers, Housing Officers, Women&#x27;s Aid, Health Visitors and other agencies.

**Objectives:** 4. Working within the European Convention on Human Rights&#x27; (ECHR) values of: • Equality • Fairness • Respect • Dignity • Autonomy in conjunction with the additional values of: • responsiveness • confidentiality • compassion The School Bank West Lothian aims to: 4.1. Alleviate the effects of child poverty in families experiencing financial hardship in West Lothian, particularly in areas of high deprivation (Charitable Purpose a.). 4.2. Support the advancement of education of children and young people facing socio-economic and cultural deprivation, in primary and secondary state education in West Lothian {Charitable Purpose b.). 4.3. Protect and support the mental health and well -being of children and young people and their families (Charitable Purposes d. &amp; n.). 4.4. Increase recycling of good quality, used clothing and equipment (Charitable Purpose m.). by providing new and good quality used school uniforms and any other essential items deemed to be necessary to meet the cost of the school day
