ORJECTIVFS &ACTIVITIES Charitable Purpose The advancement of community development by operating and proinoting a communitv transport scheme within the extremely remote Highland community. of Glenelg and Arnisdale. Activities Thc Trusl's sole purpos¢ is to secur¢ funds in ord¢r to providc all within our remote community with a dial- a -bus service primarily. but not exclusively to connect with in coming and outgoing City l.ink buses to and from Invern¢ss and Glasgow, and Portree to bring residen15 and visilurs into Glcne8 and Arnisdale for a tlat rate ticket price of £5-00 (no concessions). The Trust also provides a community bus for all one day a iveek io enable th¢ communiiy io use facililies in iheir nearest center, Kyle of Lochalsh. The Trust is responsible for raising funds lo run the two services, advertising, administraiion and ¢ommunicatingY with user% and the communily. AchAevements Performance In 2024125. BUG continued to build on its committnent lo providing reliable and affordable community, transport while strengthening its long-term sustainabilitv. Throughout the year, the Trust maintained strong financial resilience, allowing both the t)ial-a-Bus and Kyle Express services lo operale wiihoul interrupiion. Fundraising activity became more diverse. with donations secured from new funders and a broader range of grant opportunities explored, reducing dependence on any single source of iiicome. Service delivery remained consistent. and in some periods ridership ¢ven increased, demonstrating the continued and growing need t.or transport provision w'ithin our remote community, Reliability also improved further as a result of stronger coordination with connecting timetables and ongoing refinementq to administrative systems. The iinpact on the cominunity remained si¥nificant. with residents continuing to rely on the services for acces5 to essential amenities, reduced isolation and iinproved wellbeiiig. The trustees are pleased to report that the transport services remain vital lifclincs for thL Nsidcnts of Gl¢nelg and Arni5dale, sUPPOrting Social inclusion, independence and access to regional services. FINANCIAL REVIEW BUG Trustees have been succe55ful in gaining funds to secure ils sustainability and to increase ihe level of transport service provision to the communit>,.
