Constitution
The Charity is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (a SCIO). It was registered as a charity on 15 March 2016.
Appointment of trustees
The management committee, which normally meets on a monthly basis, are the charity’s trustees. The trustees are volunteers and have a mix of skills including delivery of craniosacral therapy to autistic children and other skills relevant to the good governance and operation of the charity.
Trustees are elected at the annual general meeting which is held in September. There must be a minimum of four and a maximum of eight trustees.
Objectives and Activities
Charitable purposes
The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science, the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.
The relief of children in need and their carers within Scotland by reason of Autism Spectrum Disorder and who have suffered trauma, in particular but not exclusively by: 4.2 The advance of science through supporting and publishing scientific research analysing the treatment of these children with Energy Medicine that will bring practical benefits or improve conditions of life.
Activities
The Source Therapy Foundation aims to treat autistic children with groundbreaking Craniosacral Therapy (CST) which has shown to have positive effect on the behavioural and medical challenges of autism.
The treatment is currently only available through private therapy that limits both its accessibility and availability. The charity’s main activities are currently fundraising in order to allow the proprietary TATE Project (Treating Autism with Therapuetic Energy) to be implemented initially in West Lothian, commencing in 2017.
Achievements and Performance
There have been no events run this year due as the Charity founder has been in ill health
Financial review
Our main source of funding is sponsorship income from the many events which we hold, as well as donations from supporters of the charity.
We have made enquiries in relation to grant income from a number of sources and would expect grant funding to become available as the charity evolves and develops.
Reserves policy
The trustees are not remunerated and are limiting expenditure at this stage until cash balances allow the TATE project to be commenced. Once the project has commenced, the trustees will maintain an appropriate level of working capital to allow the charity to operate effectively.
Plans for future period
The Project is currently on hold and the charity currently has no plans for this year
