Independent Examiner's Report to the trustee of Powerhouse Community Church

1

| report on the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 31 August 2024, which are set out on pages 2 to 5.

## Respective responsibilities of trustee and examiner

The charity's trustees are responsible for preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10 (1) (a) to © of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44 (1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

## Basis of independent examiner's report

My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently | do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

## Independent examiner's statement

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

- to keep accounting records in accordance with section 44 (1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations; and

- to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 8 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations;

have not been met; or

(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. ——— a

## Objectives and activities

## Our objectives:

To provide a safe, friendly and welcoming place where anyone can meet to worship and have their spiritual and physical well-being needs met.

To advance the good news of the kingdom. To bring together believers to practically demonstrate the love of God in our local community.

To engage in working within the local community to reduce and relieve poverty and needs.

## Our Activities:

Provision of a weekly worship service, which is open to anyone.

Provision of children’s activities on a Sunday morning such as games, crafts and Bible stories.

Provision of financial support for local charities such as North Ayrshire Foodbank and Dalry Community Larder, and charities such as the Christian Institute.

Hosting community events to bring the local community back together

Weekly prayer meetings — open to all.

Men’s meetings and Ladies meetings — meeting to fellowship and spend time with each other.

## Achievements and performance

We continue to enjoy having our own purpose built building where we can meet on a Sunday morning and at other time throughout the year.

Again we had some special Christmas services and hada special offering for the North Ayrshire Foodbank. Again this year we were able to send some carol singers to share some carols at Café Solace which is another charity in the community providing cheap meals on a Friday evening.

We continue to send financial gifts to to a church in Ukraine that helps support refugees with food and shelter.

We had another free easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday which was open to all children. It was nice to see some visitors.

The ladies had ladies nights where we did different things like quizzes, walks and tea, coffee and cakes.

We hosted men’s breakfasts and men’s movie nights which were open to and free for all men.

We have continued to support local charities and foodbanks with regular donations.

We advertise all of our events on our Facebook page to ensure that the community are aware of our free events.

Financial review

All of our income comes from the regular weekly giving from the members of our church and the gift aid that we are able to claim on these donations. We are very grateful to our generous members that allow us to carry out our objectives.

We would like to continue to be in the position to give to people in need in the local community and to offer free events that are open to everyone such as our annual Easter egg hunt and special Christmas events. We would like to continue to support the local foodbanks.
