The principal accounting policies, which have been applied consistently in the current and Pr￿eding year in
dealing with items which are considered material to the accounts. are set out below.
Basis of preparAtion
The financial statements of the Scottish Charitable [ncOry￿rtaed Organisation. which is a publi¢ benefit entity
under FRSI 02, hav¢ been prepaTed in a￿ordanCe with Ac¢ouniing and Reporting by Charities: Statement of
Recommended Practice applicable to charilies preparing their accounts in ￿￿rdance with the Financial
Reporting Standards applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRSI 02) issued on 16 July 2014 and the
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRSI 02). the Charities and Trustee
Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended).

The funds h¥ld by the charity are either:
Uplreslricled generalfynds - these funds are expendable at the discretion of the trustees in furtheranc¢ of the
objects of the charity. If parts of the unrestricied funds are eamiarked at the dis¢relion of ihe trustees for a

and does not le2allv restri¢t the trustees. discretion to aDDlv the fund.

donor or with their authority or Created through legal pr￿eSSes. but siill within the wider objects of the chuity.

Donaled professional services and donated facilities or¢ re¢ognised as income when the charity has control over
the item, any conditions &ssociated with the donated item have b¢en m¢1. the receipt of economi¢ benefit from
the use by the charity of the it¢m is probabl¢ and that economic benefit can be measured reliably. In ￿CordanCe
with the Charities SORP {FRS102) the gen¢ral volunteer time of volunteers is not r¢¢ognised.
On r¢ceipL donated profr5sional services and donated facilities are recogni5ed on the b&sis of the value of the
gift to th¢ ¢harity which is the amount the charity wiyuld have been willing to pay lo obtsin servi¢¢s or facilities
of equivalent economic benefit on the 0￿rt market. a corresp)nding amount is then rew8nised as expenditure in
th¢ period of r￿cipt.
Interest receivable
Interest on funds held on deposit is included when receTvable and the amount can b¢ measured reliably by the
charity. this is normally upon notifl￿tIOn of the interest paid or payable by the Bank.
