The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year end¢d
31 December 2021. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities-.
Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to ¢h&rities preparing their accounts in a¢cordaiice with the
Finan¢ial R¢porting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of treland (FRS 102) (effe¢tiv¢ l January
2019).

ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORLIIANCE
Charitable activÉties
Partllerships
Since b¢¢oining a registered charity Birth, Baby & Bejond has made amazing progress in helping families
in need. Over the y¢ars the charity has greatly increased the number of famÉlies it has helped by tripling tlie
number of partiierships it has in place along with improving and increasing the support they offer faTnilies
in need. Each partnership Birth, Baby & Be>'ond has in place is with a professional body working with
fatnilies in need within tbe city of Glasgow. Birth, Baby & Be>'ond's reach has been greatly increased due to
orking solely with professional bodies in Glasgow Thorking closely with families in need.
Buttdles and Packs
The charity offers fainili¢s free Baby Food Packs and Newborn E5scntial Bundles. Birth. Baby & Beyond
olunte¢¥s put together the essential items the fatnily require from the donatioi)s the ¢harity receives. An
average Baby Food Pack contains infant forLnula milk, baby food iteiiis, feeding equipment. nappies and
baby wipes. Newborn Essential Bundles can include items such a Pr￿n, cot, crib, baby cliair, baby carrier,
feeding equipment, playinat, b¢ddingblankets, toiletries, nappies, nursing pads and elothing items. If the
charity does not have an essential baby item requested for the family, il will purchase this item and put it in
tbe Pack request¢d. Otice fully made the pack or bundle is deliTrered out to the family directly to their home.
2020 saw the biggest rise in referrals with a 60
/ts incr¢as¢ with over 4000 fatnilies r¢¢¢iving emergency
Baby Food Packs
BB&B Family Centre (main worklttg areg)
The charity has a develop¢d a new Family Centr¢ that offers families health and wellbeing and workshops
alongside a 5 day a week drop-in center. An area of the cei)ter also doubles up as community shop that is
open to the public 4 days a w¢ek. Those who frequent the charilies shop to buy affordable, high quality new
and used baby and ¢hild items form the core of the charities paying custoiners. All funds raised from the
shop area sustaÉns the charity thus allowing it to continue to help families in need. The center which also
a¢ts as a shop. drop off point for donations, working area for the charity's servi¢¢s and our niain infomiatiott
poiiit and is of great importance itL tlie Charities s￿￿esS. Due to the progress th¢ ¢harity has made over the
years it now has a permanent visible presence which has gr¢atly increased aThaieness, donations and funds
all of which are a crucial ingrcdient in reaching out to, aiid helping families facing f￿anCIal hardship.

Benefits to people And communltles
By providing famili¢s facing finan¢ial hardship in Scotland with Newborn Essential Bundles and Baby
Food Packs the charity is benefitting the liTr'es of those in n¢ed. The Newborn Essential Bundles and Baby
Food Pa¢ks provided improve the lives of parents and children fa¢ing financial hardship. A family in iieed
that receives a bundle or pa¢k from Birth, Baby & Beyond will be reabsured that their children will have
leall and safe essential baby and child il¢ms along with ess¢iitial food products at no cost. Both families
receiving the bundle or pack. and tho>e donating items to put in the biindles and pack"i are eftortlessly
helping each other. The Glasgow Com￿u￿1ty comes together. parents are happy in the knowledge that their
pre-loved baby and child items will be going onto familiei in need within tlie lo￿al COEnmunity. The
charities new Family C¢ntr¢ that opened in October 2021 aims to complinient the bundles and packs
families receive by offeTing more sustainable support in the forni of a drop-in servi¢¢ along with free health
and wellbeing workshops and claises.

All of the iteins that the charity uses are new and used itetlls that have been donated dir¢¥tly to th¢ ¢harity.
More than 90¢/o of the items donated to the charity would hav¢ ¢nded up as landfill if another use was not
found for them.

By only using donations of new and used ttems the charity is reducing ￿aSte and reusing items for th¢
reinainder of the itetns life span.
Positive EnvironJnental Mana
ement Issu¢s
As a cliarity, the way in which it Conserves energy alld minimises waste helps the environment and is in turn
eco-friendly. The charity redu¥¢i th¢ number of items that end up as landfill, reuse secondhand items which
in turn helps the eiivironment and reduces unnecessary waste.
E¢onomi¢ Benefits
During 2020-2021 BiTth, Baby & Bey'ond has created volunteei'ing, work experience and training
opportunities for those in the Glasgow community. The charities working partnerships that are currently in
plac¢ with prof¢ssional bodies in Glaigow strengthen support aTrailable for families in need within the
Glasgow community

FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS
2020-21 was a y¢ar of tnaEEy challenges for th¢ charity that led to a new direction. During 2020 the ¢harity
closed its public outlets such as the shop and events to the public like all third sector organisations but
continued to support vuln¢rabl¢ famili¢s by providing an additional support in the forIn of Baby Food
Packs. This w.as doiie via telephone referrals and contact free delivery, the ¢harity saw an increase in service
users of almost 60/D at this titD¢. From March 2020 to the present day the charity has continued to provid¢
familieb With this additional support. At th¢ end of 2020 the charity closed its retail shop and secured grant
fimding to develop a Family Ceiitre to widen the charities Ieach and offer more sustainable support to those
that needed it. During the pandemic, and while c109ed to the public the charity continued to positively
impact fatnilies with free Newborn Essential Bundles and Baby Food Pa¢ks via referrals. The charity
developed an online referral portal to allow families in isolation or suffering from Covidl 9 the chance to
self-refer to receive support. Prior to opening the new Family Centr¢ in O¢tober 2021, the charity was
SUCie&sful in sewuring a new sponsor>hip with Funstre¢l in Silverbun. The sponsorship developed well from
sumiiier 2021 aiid will continue into 2022.
Th¢ chariti¢s Family Centre opened in October 2021 and ha5 since expaiided the charities r¢a¢h and
opportunities to support families in need. A further benefit to the Family Centre opening was that the
charity can now offer more sustainable support in the forn) of a w¢¢kly drop-in servic¢ for families, a
meeting point for organisations to work in partn¢rship with ihe charity and also doubled up as & community
shop 4 da￿S & week and a donation drop off point. Jn addition to securing funding to develop the Family
Centre, at the end of 2021 the charity secured grant funding to initall a heat pump and to purchase a van.
The charities new Family Centre set an agenda in August 2021 to develop health and wellbeing Classes for
families such as baby massag¢, baby sensory. a coffee moming and a comnjunity fridge.

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the
Charities and Trustee InTrestment (S¢otlaiid) Act 200) and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations
2006 (as amended). The Charity's trustees coTrsider that the audit requtrement of Regulatioi) 10(I)(a) to (¢}
of the Accounts Regulations doei not apply. It is my responsibility to examine th¢ accounts as required
under Section 44{1)(¢) of the Act and to state wh¢ih¢r particular matters have come to my att¢ntion.

My examination carried out in accordance with Regulation I l of the Charities Accounts (Scotland)
