The main focus of the charity is to promote peace and understanding across the globe by engaging in practical and educational exchange programmes with individuals from abroad. The main activities include social services agency visits, with cultural and social activities with the aim to provide an overview of social services and the way of life in Scotland. The programmes include opportunities for the visiting delegates to share information about their work experiences, social work methods in their own countries and to learn from each other thus building on all experiences with a view to enhancing their own practice. These exchanges have proved valuable for all involved in the development of the programmes, agencies visited and for the receiving branch members.
