Activities

'It carries out activities or services itself'

'the advancement of education','the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage'

What: Ensure any young person in crisis is supported without delay or the need for any waiting list, providing a rapid response on the day whenever there is a perceived risk to life and provide the appropriate whole family support as needed. Also build the resilience of our young people and community in regards to mental health and suicide prevention. How: Increase in staffing has allowed us to maintain a no waiting list approach and every young person reaching out for support has been successfully guided through recovery and now has the copying strategies and resilience to maintaining their own mental health. We also offered family support to every young person’s carers and gave them the tools to also support their young person to a place of recovery and saftey.

Objectives: 4.1 To provide a place of safety for people who are at crisis point with thoughts of self harm/suicide. At the moment in Perth there are other organisations that deal with this type of situation but unfortunately the waiting lists are so long and people in crisis need a place of safety there and then 4.2 To ensure that people in crisis keep their dignity. People in crisis situations are not necessarily in contact with any organisation or open to mental health services 4.3 To promote awareness around mental health and in particular selfharm and suicide 4.4 To provide a listening service to support people with self-harming behaviours and suicidal ideation.
