The committee members are responsible for the preparation of the accounts for each financial year which gives a true and fair review of the state of affairs at the end of the year and of its results for that period. In preparing those accounts the members are required to;
- e Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently. e Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent e State whether applicable accounting standards have been followed e Prepare the accounts on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to assume that the scheme will continue
The committee members are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the project and which will enable them to comply with accounting procedures of The Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990 and The Charities Accounts (Scotland) regulations 1992. As a Scottish charity they must also comply with the applicable terms and provisions of the Charities & Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. They are responsible for safeguarding the assets of the organisation and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud or other irregularities.
We shall continue to work to deliver the successful assistance and help required by our service users to the consistently high standard we have been renowned for.

Statement of Responsibilities of Trustees & Independent Examiner
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner’s statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, | do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.
Independent examiner’s statement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention
- which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: . to keep accounting records in accordance with section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and ° to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations
have not been met, or
- to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
Introduction
Langton Activity Group SCIO is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SC046182). During the last year Langton Activity Group SCIO has been focused on managing Langton Road Hall, ensuring services and activities delivered from the Hall are meeting the needs of the local community (all ages). In the previous 12months Langton Road Hall has had an income of £28,902, this was secured through generated income; Hall Hires/Lets totaling £16,328, and through successfully securing 2 grants, £10,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund and £307.50 from Glasgow City Council. Donations of £2,267 from hall users. The money secured through generated income and funding allowed the Group to provide activities within Langton Road hall, activities generally consisted of charity fundraising nights, as well as other social and recreational activities for local community members; the main activity we continue to deliver is the over 50’s Exercise Class and tea/chat sessions. Total expenditure for the previous 12months has been £30461, giving the Group a deficit of £1559 for the period. The Group was able to carry forward £9040 from the previous financial year, giving them a net worth of £7,441 as of 8"" December 2024.
| have examined the financial records, letters of award, pay ins and expenditure of the group for the period 2023/24 and find them to correspond with their Receipts and Payments statements for the year under consideration.
With specific reference to this accounting period | should just like to state that after examination of the group's financial records | have no specific recommendations to make regarding the group’s methods of recording or accounting practice as they all conform to the statutory requirements for an organisation of its size and nature. Further no other issues of concern were raised in any pertinent matter with regard to Langton Activity Group SCIO accounts for this year.

Aims and Objectives of Langton Activity Group SCIO
The purpose of the charity is to; provide a recreational facility or organise recreational activities with the aim of improving the conditions of life for whom the facility or activities are mainly intended. In furtherance of this object the Langton Activity Group SCIO will be responsible for the management, promotion and development of the Langton Road Hall and the promotion, co-ordination and development of community activities within Langton Road Hall.
We plan to continue promote Langton Hall as a low cost alternative to host meetings, events and activities by community groups and Third Sector (not for profit/charitable) providers in Greater Pollok; ideally we want the majority of funded services and activities to be delivered free of charge to local community members. We are also keen to engage with Community Arts-related organisations, so they can provide artistic and creative opportunities for local residents. The next specific beneficiary group will be local children and youths, we have had several ideas for services/activities suggested, ranging from Tea Dances, and Community events to Storytelling groups.
