of assistance to the board.
Statement of the charity's policy on reserves
In any year income from ticket sales is h￿hlY weather dependent. We have therefore historically had a
policy to ensure sufficient reserves to cover all 5 nights of the following season taking place indoors. The
level of reseryes ensured that we had sufficient fijnds to cover costs during the period when we have
been unable to run a full season of events. We have a surplus from 2025 of £2,899 and reserves of
£9.314, which is sufficient to cover us in the unlikely event of three Ioss-making seasons.

Chair's report
Our usual activities are running a series of 5 evenings of Scottish dan￿ in Linlithgow on Wednesday
evenings in JulylAugust every year, at Linlithgow Palace, with an altemative venue depending on the
weather. In 2025, we were most fortunate that we were able lo dance at the Great Hall at the Pala￿ all
5 evenings. As in 2024. numbers attending were restricted by remedial works being carried out at the
Palace.
We are very grateful to the trustees, volunteers, performers, supporters and everyone who attends for
making this season so Suc￿sSfUl. Particular mention goes to Patrick Steuart, as a member of the
committee and much appreciated supporter, for providing safety lighting and help with promotion. as well
as everything else that he does.
We would also like to thank Historic Environment Scotland and their staff for their help with access to
Linlithgow Palace as our main iconic venue.
