The Charity was previously an unincorporated association. The assets of the unincorporated association were transferred to the SCIO on 19th October, 2015. Appoiiyfl￿lENTs OF TRUSTÈES The Board of Trustees norn]ally meet four tirnes a year. Trustees are elected by a majority Vote at the Board meetings. OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES Charitable Purposes The Charity's purposes are to promote equality and diversity by: .Raising awareness of disability related harassment and abuse (such &$ hate crime). Encourdging p¢ople to report such incidents. Working with partners to create safer and stronger communities for people who are elderly, disabled andlor vulnerable. and Working wilh young people, disabl¢d people and partners to promote equality and diversity. Main Objeclives The Charity aims to chang¢ attitudes and b¢haviours so that disabled and vulnerable people in Scoiland feel safe in their communities. To do this they will lead a national mov¢ment for CHANGE C - Create a new disability initiative that helps people to feel connected with their communities. H - I larness strong partncrship working to facilitate changes in attitud¢s and behaviours. I AM ME SCOTLAND SCIO TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT Main Achievements 2024-2025 During the period the charity. which has received the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, has continued to work with children, young people and people with lived and living experience to develop a range of innovative, exciting and accessible resources. The online platfomi is available FREE for all schools and Police partners in Scotland and is available fron] ianimescotlandeducation.org.uk. There are currently over 2900 tcachers and Police Officers using the platfomi to deliver educational inputs. Resources include, disabilily awareness, hate crime, alcohol & Substance, UNCRC, Vaping and much more. In 2024-2025, the team have worked with partners, young people and pcople with lived and living cxpcrience to create the folloiving resoiirces.. 'YOU ARE tNOT ALONE, An Exploitation ResoLirce developed with young people and people with lived and Living experience è4ioid%? This resource was developed in partnership with Polmont YOI and Police Scotland. Young males and adult females from Polmont co-developed the initiativ¢, supported by young pcople from St Mary's Kenrnure, Good Shepherd and Renfrewshire Children and Young People's Team. The aim of the resource is to raise aWa￿nesS of, and help tackle exploitation, The package has been developed for non-mainstream schools, but will be available free. There are 3 main lessons. Keep Safe tn addition to the development of the new online resources. the Charity has also worked with Police Scotland to finalise the exit strategy for the Keep Safe initiativ¢. During the l O years the initiative was operational there was: Over l 000 Keep Saf¢ places registered on the network. 4,448 staff trained on hate crime and reporting. 40,000 Keep Safe cards distributed. 1.353 ambassadors Irained and 588 Police Officers trained. Di.gability Friendly Disability Friendly is a brand new initiative that is being deveIoped with disability group5 and disabled people across Scotland. The aim of the initiative will be to help disabled and ￿llnerable people to feel valued and support¢d within their cornmunities. Due to pilot in 2025, it is likely the initiative will be available across Scotland from early 2026. I AM SCOTLAND SCIO TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT (CONTINUED) FINANCIAL REVIEW During the period the Charity received gross funds of £52, l27 (2024 - £114,313) and expended £114,590 (2024 - £84.550) which resulted in a deficit at 31 March 2025 of £61463 (2024 - £29,763 sU￿lUs) Reserves Policy The Trustees, policy is to retain thrcc months, worth of nornial running costs in order to meet comm itments and unexpected expenditure. Three months expenditure stand5 at £28,638 and reserves are £175.686. Included in thc reserves £ I74,000 has been allocated to cover staff salary costs. Donated Facililies and Seniices The Charity receives the donated services of two members of staff at Renfrewshire Council. The Charity has a strong partnership with Police Scotland, Renfrewshire Council and the Crown Office and Procuralor Fis&al Service (COPFS). The Cbarity has received donations and goodwill from many organisations, The Board of Trustees would like to note particular thanks and appreciate to: Renfrewshlre Council staff posts office space, re50ur¢¢s and support. Police Scotland for the stydff time allocated to support Keep Safe COPFS for thc staff timc allocydted for the Support of Keep Safe. This is testsment to the opportunity to work directly with communities whilst having the flexibility and ability to adapt to, an(L respond to new challenges. The new Strategic Plan for 2025-2028 will detail planned activities, including the aim to increase the profile of the charity, highlighting the value as a contributor to national conversation and pol icy. Other strategic priorities include the commitment.to: Build on the excellent health and wellbeing educational platform, focussing on prevention and carly intervention (harm rcduction)., Further develop the online education resource platforni and extend its use nationally. Continue to work with children, young people and people who have lived and living experience to creale more exciting, inclusive and interactive materials. Seek collaborations with national organisations to influence change and tackle issues which impact on disabled and vulnerable people across Scotland. Continue to work with public, private and third sector organisations and communities to encourage safe supportive environments for disabled and vulnerable people. Develop new and innovative ways to raise awareness of disability related harassment and abuse, emphasising the effects that incidents can have on individuals and the wider community. Continue to work with Police Scotland, COPFS and other partners to seek improved legislative protection for victims of disability hate crime. Work with communities, partners and organisations to raise awareness of the various reporting methods and encourage the establishment of accurate recording methods for disability related hardssment and abuse. RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF TRUSTEES & EXAMllYER The charity's tr￿tee5 are respotLsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the temis of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scolland) Act 2005 and ihe Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes Consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such niatters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence ihat would be required in an audiL and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
