greater public participation in relation to counterfeiting and

working on a novel concept to:

Educate the general public on the dangers of acquiring counterfeit/fake products and items. 2. Inform the general public on how they may protect themselves from becoming victims of fraud. The Charity has named its concept “The Fake Shop” What is The Fake Shop? With so many High Street shops closing down there isn’t a shortage of potential sites to run The Fake Shop project. In essence, the Charity proposes to put back into use empty stores in towns and cities, with the participation of local Trading Standards, the Police, local authorities and other stake holders and to furnish them with basic shop fittings. On display the customers will find a vast assortment of items, but not ordinary items. Counterfeit products will be on show as if they were for sale but instead of a price tag they will carry warnings. The warnings will help consumers discover truths about counterfeit products and consumer scams.
