WORD FROM DIRECTOR The report we are presenting here summarises the eighth year of APPLA {SCIOI activities. The main activities of APPLA throughout the 202212023 period were focused on preparation and delivery of a conference of the Forum of Heritage Language Education Coalitions , a series of workshops and participation in events promoting heritage languages in the UK, Europe and worldwide. It is a great pleasure to see the topic of heritage languages attracting more and more attention and to see so many grassroot organisations and passionate professionals, parents and policymakers supporting the cause we feel so strongly about. We very much enjoyed being a part of both stnall-scale workshops for groups consisting of 15 parents as well as the very big conferences. Our efforts and experience gathered in the last eight years have been noticed by advocates of heritage languages on a global scene - in October 2022 we were invited to join the Heritage Language Global Think Tank. Not only is this invitation a great honour for us but also great responsibility as we aim to represent to the best of our abilities the interests of Polish heritage language speakers in the UK and worldwide. As always, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all those who supported us in our various activities. I would also like to thank all those amazing professionals whom we cooperated with throughout the year for their enthusiasm and the inspiration they have given us. Last but not least, I would like to thank APPLA'S board members for their time, knowledge and skills that they so generously contributed to help us fulfil our mission.
