**Objectives:** Subject to the overriding qualification at clause 5.1, the SCIO is established for charitable purposes only and the SCIO’s purposes are, for the benefit of the public in Kirkmuirhill, Blackwood and surrounding communities (the Communities), to: a. To preserve and protect the mental and physical health of individuals resident in Scotland, (“the Operating Area”) and to assist in the relief of ill health and the provision of health education for such individuals. b. To advance education, and in particular health education, among the residents of the Operating Area so as to develop their mental, social and spiritual capacities so that their conditions of life may be improved. c. To promote, establish and operate other schemes of a charitable nature for the benefit of the community within the Operating Area
