**What the charity does:** Light Up Learning provides one-to-one mentoring for high school students in Edinburgh and the Lothians.  The programme aims to address issues of unequal access to education and disengagement in the classroom by creating low-stress, supportive, and playful learning environments for young people who have experienced disadvantage. We place each student in charge of their own learning and give them the resources, skills, and contacts they need to achieve their potential.

**Objectives:** Light Up Learning is established for charitable purposes only. Our object is to advance education, and in particular to enhance the learning experience for young people from non-privileged backgrounds. We achieve this by promoting a love of learning in the young people that we work with, and by supporting them as they seek to achieve the best possible educational, social and personal outcomes for themselves.
