The Trustees present their report and accounts for the 12-month period from 1[st] January to 31 December 2025.
STRUCTURE GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Structure and Governing Document
Alexander Anthony Trust was awarded charitable status on 7 May 2015 with the charity number SC045594 Anthony Alexander Trust is governed by a Trust Deed which clearly sets out its purposes and how the Charity is to be administered by the Trustees.
Trustees
The Trustees who served during the year are noted on page 1. The Trustees are responsible for the governance, supervision and defining the strategy and objectives of Anthony Alexander Trust. The Trustees also have principal responsibility for finance, fundraising, policies and procedures, risk management and contractual obligations. The Trustees meet regularly to fulfil their duties.
The Trust Deed permits the appointment of up to 7 Trustees and requires a minimum of 3 Trustees. At the year-end and throughout the period, 3 Trustees held office.
The appointment of new Trustees is the responsibility of the existing Trustees.
Risk Management
The Trustees have examined the major strategic, business, and operational risks which the Alexander Anthony Trust faces and confirm that adequate systems and controls are in place to mitigate such risks.
Aims
Anthony Alexander Trust exists to achieve three charitable purposes:

The advancement of health and in particular research into heart/cancer disease

The saving of lives through provision of care (for cancer patients)

The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage
Our main goal is to distribute the proceeds of the investment to the causes we identify as worthy and of the Trust’s ethos.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE FOR THE PERIOD ENDED 31 December 2025
We have received detailed feedback and thanksgiving from the use of our donations for the year 2025 and the achievements accomplished. Some comments follow:
Maggies Centre We were thrilled to receive your generous donation. We remain focused on adapting to the needs of supporting cancer patients and those who love them. We will be able to continue to provide the very best quality of care to those who need it most. Thank you.
Keren Yad-Hashmona Thank you for your faithful support which, makes it possible to continue our youth and children’s work, to help communities during attacks, to host families whose homes have been severely damaged and to be in close contact with evacuee families in Israel.
Prayer for Israel
Thank you for your generous and faithful donation which helps Dov Bikas ministry in Tel Aviv reaching out to street addicts, alcoholics prostitutes, and rehabilitation and shelter for women and children. Also, for One For Israel ministry with Jew and Arab leadership, growing together, reaching out and equipping communities in Israel, providing aid to families in need.
Ezra International Many thanks for your very much appreciated donation, which gives help to those battling with cancer, heart disease and particularly difficult circumstances, especially recently with those in Australia and New Zealand.
Perth Hope Hub This community space in Perth offers free classes, a café, rehabilitation support, and friendship for people recovering from substance abuse, as well as ex-offenders working to rebuild their lives Thank you, we are so grateful for your generous donation.
Care for Carers We are delighted with your donation and planning a “Big Day Out” trip to the Japanese Gardens at Cowden Gardens in April which will include a crafting workshop for the group of carers. We will report back in due course.
Mercy Ships With this lifesaving gift, your donation gives an operating theatre on board Global Mercy ships, plus sterile instruments, for a whole day of surgeries. Also for the essential support of two crew volunteers and to train four African healthcare nurses. We are very grateful for your amazing support.
Prevent Breast Cancer Our sincere thanks for your generous grant in support of our innovative research exploring the link between breastfeeding and breast cancer prevention. Also, for our research exploring how best to support women newly identified as BRCA mutation carriers We are truly grateful for your investment in this vital work.

Governance
The Trustees continue to monitor the portfolio of investments to ensure that adequate funds are available to distribute income to projects that fit the purposes of the Trust. The Trustees consider which projects to support and award grants accordingly.
Financial Review
In the period reported in these accounts, the Trust received income from selling Unit Trust Investments amounting to £46,195 plus bank interest of £11 (2024 £54). Eight groups received grants (2024:9) amounting to £45,000 (2024: £49,000).
The surplus for the year was £756 (2024 £592). Retained funds held in the Trust’s bank account were £27,358 (2024 £26,602)
The Trust holds Unit Trust investments with St James Place Wealth Management. At 31 December 2025, these investments were valued after withdrawing £46,195 for distribution, plus annual charges and transaction costs at £126,645 (2024: £131,276)

Reserves Policy
We continue our plan to keep the unit trust investment capital held with St.James’ Place Unit Trust Group Ltd. and donate the interest and part of the capital investment to the chosen charities that qualify for our charitable purposes.

Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of Alexander Anthony Trust
I report on the accounts of the charity for the period ended 31 December 2025 which are set out on pages 6 and 7.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006.
The charities trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 9, 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have some to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner’s statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent examiner’s statement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention (other than disclosed below)

which gives me reasonable causes to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and

to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations
have not been met. or
- to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

- 1 Accounting Policies
Basis of Accounting
- The accounts have been prepared on receipts and payments basis in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended).
Nature and purpose of funds

All funds are unrestricted and may be used at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the objects of the charity. The trustees maintain a single unrestricted fund for the day to day running of the organisation.
