Team Jak provides emotional, social and practical support to Children and Young People age 0-25 with cancer and related illnesses, their family, friends and those bereaved. We do this from Jak's Dens, outreach from hospitals and in schools and at home if required.

Objectives: 4 The organisation’s purposes are: 4.1 The provision of recreational facilities for the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended – ie of the health, education, wellbeing and conditions of children and young people with cancer, related illnesses and their families and friends, and those bereaved, both from Jak’s Den within West Lothian, Aberdeen and through home and online outreach and via satellite Jak’s Dens, hospitals and schools throughout Scotland. 4.2 To advance the health and wellbeing (emotional wellbeing, mental health and social support) of our children and families affected by cancer and bereavement throughout Scotland in particular but not exclusively by the provision of counselling and support services and practical support to individuals and families affected by long term illness and bereavement. 4.3 The advancement of education of school pupils, staff and community groups throughout Scotland by provision of bespoke support services empowering schools and groups within the community to improve communication, understanding and empathy with members with a serious or terminal illness, death and bereavement using early intervention strategies. 4.4 To relieve those in need as a result of ill health and bereavement and those that support them, through activities and support sessions as required
