Constitution
The Charity 15 a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation la SCIO). It was registered in
its current legal form on 2. April 2015. The charity was prevlously an unincorporated
association but changed Its legal form to a SCIO. The assets of the unincorporated
association were transferred to the SCIO on 2, April 2015. The structure of the organisation
consists of the charity trustees who are also the organisation's only members and comprise
the organisation's board.

The minimum number of Charity Trustees is 3.
Charlty Trusteeship is open to:
Any person aged 16 or over; and/or
Any individual who has been nomlnated for membership by an unincorporated
organisation; and/or
Any corporate body,.
Who subscribes to the purposes of the organisation and wishes to become a Charity Trustee
must sign a written application for Charlty Trusteeship. For a corporate body, that
application must be signed by an appropriately authorised officer of that body who will
remain as the representation of that corporate body until such time at the corporate body
informs the Board otherwise.
Applications will be considered by the Board and an application may be refused where there
are reasonable grounds to do so.
Each applicant will be notified promptly (ln writing, which includes by e-mail) of the decislon
on whether or not to admit him/her/it as a Charity Trustee,
At each AGM, all of the charity trustees must retire from office by may then be re-elected. A
charity trustee retiring at an AGM will be deemed to have been re-elected unless
He/she/it advises the Board prior to the conclusion of the AGM that he/she/it does
not wish to be re-appointed as a charlty trustee; or
An election process was held at the AGM and he/she/it was not among those
elected/re-elected through that p.rocess; or
A resolution under sub-clauses 27.5, 27,6, 27.7, 27.8 of the constitutlon was put to
the AGM and was carried.

ose
The organlsation Is established for charitable purposes only. and in partlcular. the objects
are:
The advancement of education for all sections of society, with the focus on
school children, in allotment design and construction, a8riculture, horticulture,
sustainable development, food production and processing, cooking and
protection of the natural environment through good environmental praCti￿S.
The advancement of environmental improvement through increasing awarenes5
to, and interest in, food production and the environment, the growing of food
locally and reduclng the carbon footprint, increased recycling and reusing of
materials and utilising planning methods to increase biodiversity whilst retalning
local crop production herita8e;
The advancement of community developrnent through the provision of and
participatlon in community garden spaces for all sectlons of soclety In a
Sustainable and inclusive manner, dirett involvement, partnershlp working and
the provSsion and promotion of volunteering activities;
The.promotion of such other charltable purposes as may from time to time be
determined.
Allotments,
There is good use of gardens and Individual plots. The common areas are looking better,
many thanks to MGL and Kenny for ongoing gra5S CLltting and communal area
maintenance, This makes a big positive visual impact.
There has been damage to the main allotment gate and adjacent shed during stormv
weather. The tool sheds in the stable block are cramped and fllled with equlpment whlch
ha5 never been audited or had any recent maintenance.
The apiaries
The apiaries have been busy but the bees are a Ilttle grumpy and aggressive Just now,
possibly due to the surnmer season coming to a close early and a lack of ft)rage.
Congratulations to Barbara on her work with the 'Clubhouse' holiday groups. Overall a nice
experience working with the children but less beneficial to the charity a5 no donations
were offered for time 2nd effort spent. Extra thanks to Barbara for her care of equipment
and children's bee suits.

Spring honey harvest yielded 120 jars for sale in Craigies shop. However, the honey was
primarily derived from Oilseed rape forage which made it extremely thick and difficult to
work with. A few lessons were learned for next time.
The Portacabin
The electrics have gone, possibly due to a leaky roof. This needs inspecting. Need to check
CEEP actually owns the cabin and is therefore responsible for fixlng it. A big thankyou to
Paul and Barbara for their hard work cleanlng off the mould and repainting. These are
ongoing maintenance issues as the cabin is over 10 years old.

l. Basis of accounting:
These accounts have been prepared on the Receipts and Payments basls In accordance with the
Charitie5 & Trustee investment. {Scotlandl Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotlandl
Regulations 2006 las amendedl.
2. Name and purpose of funds:
Unrestricted funds are those that may be used at the discretion of thp. trustees in furtherance of
the objects of the charity, The trustees maintain a si ngle unrestricted fund for the day-to-day
running and expansion of. the project.
Restricted f unds may only be used for speci Fic purposes. Restricted arise when specified by the
donor or when funds are ralsed for Specific purposes. No restricted fund5 were paid in
2022/2023.
3, Related part t.ransactions
No renumeration was paid to the trustees or any connected persons during the year.

The trustees must prepare financial statements whlth give suffic5ent detail to enable in
appreciation of the transactions of the Charity during the financial year.
The trustee5 are responsible for keeping pn)per accounting records which, on, request. must
reflect ttrie financial position of the charity at tliat time.
This must be done to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charitles and
Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts IScotland} Regulation
2006.
They are. also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Charity and must take
reasonable. steps for the prevention and/or detection of fraud and other irregularities.
