Activities
'It carries out activities or services itself'
'the advancement of public participation in sport','the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended'
The Charity promotes the advancement of public participation in sport, providing year round tennis, training and competition for individuals from 8 years of age and above with a physical, sensory or learning disability. Through this, those attending have the opportunity to develop physical fitness and skills, develop friendships with other tennis players, families and friends and the community, so that their quality of life can be improved. We provide tennis opportunities on a regular basis which supports and promotes healthy living styles. For those who want to compete, we provide recreational and regional opportunities for match play. We work to raise the profile of tennis and the benefits it can offer for people with a physical, sensory or learning disability. Athletes can attend as a member of GDT but also our training is open to non-members
Objectives: The mission of GDT is to provide year round tennis training and competition for individuals eight years and above with a physical, sensory or learning disability. It provides them with continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness and skills, demonstrate commitment, and experience all the pleasures of developing friendships with other tennis players, families, friends and the community, so that their quality of life can be improved.
