**What the charity does:** The Band provides free musical tuition, instruments and music for a range of people of mixed abilities and age. The Band comprises of a Junior Band and Brass Academy and a Senior Band. Both Bands meet at least weekly and perform at many musical events throughout each year. The members are committed to maintaining the strong brass band local tradition in Dalmellington and are active members of the Scottish Brass Band Association.

**Objectives:** The band will be called Dalmellington Band and its main objective will be to advance the arts and culture by encouraging and promoting tuition for people playing brass and percussion instruments and ensuring the continuation of the brass band in Dalmellington. The band will be a non-profit making organisation, with all monies earned being reinvested to provide cultural activities in the Doon Valley and beyond. In addition, the band will seek to provide entertainment for various audiences and organisations within the area and beyond.
