REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES

The Trustees have pleasure in presenting their report together with the financial statements, for the year ended 30[th] September 2024.

CHARITABLE STATUS

The charity was granted charitable status on 6[th] February 2015 and is registered as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation under number SC045406.

RECRUITEMENT AND APPOINTMENT OF TRUSTEES

The Trustees of the charity are named on page 2. The minimum number of Trustees is three. Trustees do not require to be reappointed.

GOVERNING DOCUMENTS

The Charity is a Trust, a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation which is constituted under a Declaration of Trust. The objectives and administration arrangements are set out in the Declaration of Trust.

CHARITABLE PURPOSES

The principal aims of the charity are to uphold and promote the heritage, customs and traditions of the Peebles March Riding and Beltane Queen Festival, including the Proclaiming of Beltane Fair, the Riding of the Marches, the Crowning of the Beltane Queen and the Crying of the Old Burgh Boundaries for the benefit of the people of Peebles and the inhabitants and exiles of the Burgh.

In furtherance of these objects, the organisation shall be responsible for arranging ceremonies, processions and events within Peebles in support of the annual Peebles March Riding and Beltane Queen Festival; for carrying out fundraising activities in support of the festival and doing aa other things as are charitable in law in pursuit of its charitable purpose.

ACTIVITIES YEAR ENDED 30[TH] SEPTEMBER 2024

We have in the year ended 30[th] September 2024 held our annual week long festival in June which upholds and promotes the heritage, customs and traditions of the Peebles March Riding and Beltane Queen Festival, including the Proclaiming of Beltane Fair, the Riding of the Marches, the Crowning of the Beltane Queen and the Crying of the Old Burgh Boundaries for the benefit of the People of Peebles and the inhabitants and exiles of the Burgh.

TRUSTEE REMUNERATION AND EXPENSES

The Trustees did not receive any remuneration or expenses during the year.

RESERVES

As a result of the losses for the year the charity held unrestricted funds of £164,355 at the year end. The Trustees consider that the general fund of £164,355will enable the charity to run its activities for the foreseeable future.

Independent Examiner's Report lo the Trustees of Peebles March Riding and Beltane Queen Festival I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 30 September 2024. Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the temis of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotlandl Regulations 2006 las amended)- The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10111 (dl of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) Icl of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent examiner's statement My examination is Ca￿led out in accordance wqth Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting record5 kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit. and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
