Introdurtlon
The Trustees are pleased to p￿sent the annual report and accounts of The Carse of Stlrllng
Partnership SCIO for the year endlng 28th February 2025.
Revlew oAArtlvltle5 ond Achlevements
The Carse of Siirling Partnership ICOSPI was set up in 2012, with asslstance from Scottlsh Natural
Heritage and 8uldance from the Star Development Group, to encourage co-opefatlve workin8
between land owners,farrners, communltles and buslnesses In and around the Carse of Stirling
on land use and herltage Issues that might have previously been tackled Sn Isolation. The
Partneyshlp's maln achievement has been to brSn8 together people from many different
backgrounds on a regular b351s to look at everythlng from floodlnB on the Carse to farm wildllfe
surveys, footpath access between local vllla8es. protectlng the area's cultural herltage and
promoting the area as a tourlst destlnatlon for vlsltors. The charlty's work Is partlcularly focused
on the communlties In and around the Carse, Includlng the village5 of Gar8unnock. Kippen,
BuchlyvSe, Thornhlll. Arnprior and Port of Mentelth. COSP has been reco8nlsed for Its Innovative
approach to local engagement and decislon rnaking Wlth an Award for Plannlng Excellence from
the Royal Town Plannln8 In5tltute IRTPII and a nomlnatlon for an RSPB Nature of scotland
Award.
Durln8 the year, Trustees contlnued to explore ways for local communitles acros5 the Carse of Stirlir*g
to en8a8e wlth local farmers In ralsing awareness on takln8 Steps to implement more environmentallv
sustainable a8rlcultural land management. The need for thls w35 highli8hted by the Scott15h
A8ricultural Blll in the Scottlsh Parllament In 2024. After the dlsappolntments of 2023, we were very
pleased to secure approval of a 8rant from Forth Envlfonment Link IFELI to run two Climate Action
Hub community workshops and other actlvitles durlng summer 2025. These will focu5 on the impact
of cllmate chan8e on the Carse landscape and land management to Eive local people 3 5tron8er voice
In advocatlng future actlon in addressin8 this malor challenge. Further grant support recelved from
Thornhlll Envlronment Fund {TEFI and Gargunnock Windfarm Fund and conflrmed afterthe year end,
ha5 ensured that COSP delivers a robust and meaningful programme of Cllmate Acton Hub events In
the summer of 2025.

Accounts
The Accounts that follow have been prepared on a recelpts and payments ba51s whlch reflects the
cash flow of COSP Sn the period covered above.
Structure. Governance and Monagernent
COSP is constltuted as 3 5cottlsh Charltable Incorporated Organisation and 15 8overned by
constltutlon which was adopted In 2015. As a SCIO, the charlty is subject to regulatlon by the Offlco
of the Scottish Charltles Regulator10SCRI. The charity ha5 a membeTshlp but no employees. A review
of the current SCIO Constltution wlll be undertaken by the Board wlth a vlew to Introducln8 a

subscrlptlon membershlp scheme In 2026.
Trustees Re5ponsibilltles
The Trustees ofCoSP are responsible for managing and safeguarding the assets ofthe charity and are
also responslble for keeping proper accounting records and ensuring that the accounts are prepared
In accordance wlth the terms of the Charitles and Trustee Investment (Scotlandl Act 2005 and the
Charltles Accounts {Scotlandl Regulations 2006. The Trustee5 regularly conslder the rlsks faced by
COSP and ensure that approprlate management procedures are In place to mltl8ate those rlsks. None
of the Trustees is dlsquallfied from servlce under Sertlon 70A of the 2005 Act.

The Trustees would like to thank all the Indlviduals who have contributed thelr time, knowledge and
ener8Y to the development of COSP durln8 Its slxth year of operations as a SCIO.

The charlty'5 trustees are responslble for the prÈparatlon of the accounts In accordance wlth the
terms of the Charltles and Trustee Investment {Scotlandl Act 21)J5 and the Charities Account5
(Scotlandl Regulatlons 2tK)6. The charlty trustees consider that the audit requlrement of Re8ulatlon
10111 (dl of the Accounts Regulatlons does not apply. It is my responslbllity to examine the accoun15
as requlred under sectlon 4411) {cl of the Act and to state whether p3rtScular matters have come to
my attentlon.
Basls of Independent Èxamlnerfs statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulatlon 11 of the Charitles Account5
(Scotland) Re8ulatlons 2006. Anexamination Sncludes a revlew of the accounthg records kept bv
the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented wlth those records. It also Includes
conslderatlon of any unusual item5 or disclosures In the accounts and seeks explanations from
the tru5tee5 concernln8 any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the
evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audlt oplnion
on the view given by theaccounts.

In the course of my examination. no matter has come to rny attentlon whlch8ive5 me reasonable
auseto belleve that in anyrnaterlal respect the requlrements:
