into Ihe community to deliver our services. events and activities", for this we require voices from
the ccmmunity who will support. drive and promote the organisation. Members who have skll
in various fields Come together as Charity Trustees io fulfil the roles. Those who are to be
Gonsidered for the role. meet with the exisling Board of Trust88s and following a successful
interview they will undergo Trustee training from the Third Se￿10n D and G. PVG Application,
and Ihen laking their place as an active member of the Board of Charity Trustees.
The Charity is a Scoltish Charitable Incorporated Organisation with the purposes and
administration arrangements sejt out in the OSCR approved Constitution.

Strategic Outcomes
Ours strategic (and intennediate) outcomes oulline the ways in which we hope that our work wlll
irnpact positlvely on LGBT Plus adults. older people and families over the next 10 years. Wlth
this in mind, and through our ambitious programme of work. we aim that LGBT Plus adulls,
older people and families will. under the following outcomes-
1. Pefisonal Wellbeing: be happier, safer, healthler, more confidenL and I￿tter able lo
enact their righls.
2. Social Wellbeing: engage more confidentFy wilh thelr communitles. and wlll be better
inlegrated into the social, leisure, and cultural life of Dumfries and Galloway.

As part of Ihe celebrations, we held a launch of our book 'This is my Story, rnade up of 48
stories, poems, artwork, contributed by people frorn auoss the whole region.
The stories show a strong resillent oommunity, stories of overcoming adversity. hate and fear to
become stronger.
Sharing their stories has enabled many others to understand they aren't alone in who they are.
Stranraor Pride 2024
Stranraer held their very first Pride event in August, attended by several hundred people to
enjoy Ihe spectacle of fun. live music and smiling face&
Donations
Donations have been allocated into either our long-temi welfare fund, and this alk)ws us to
support those in need, or in crises with additK)nal supporL such as supermarket vouchers, food.
meals, phone vouthers and Warm Spaos. and out Pride FurKI. depending on the Choi￿ of
the donor.
Donations have come in many fufms. such as personal donations, and those left to the
organisation by irKllviduals and families as a bequest.
Along with the sale of our 'Flainbow Lottery,, of which 500/0 of ticket sales are given fo our
Organisation. Along with donations received by our outreach team activilies across the region
over the year.
Dog Show 2024
We held our fwst dog show at the Crichton Church Lawn on th8 1st September 2024. The avant
was very popular and attracted a g¢x)d tumout. This was to be the driving force for another
event planned for June 2025.

such as suicide, IDAHO. Hate Crime, Pride. Scottish LGBTl+ Rainbow Mark Launch,
Equality and World Aids Day wilh a potential circulation reach of 30.199.
Staff have tsken part in 2 radio InteNlews to LGBT+ issues.
The Organisation took over the D&G website of Greatest Hits Radio with 3 separate
weeks showing the organisalion and Ihe services on offer.
Capacity Buildlng and Wirtual Outreach
Attended the Stranraer and Dumfries Pride events, promoted Inlernational Day Against
Homophobia. Transphobia 8nd Biphobia {IDAHO8IT) events, the World Aids Day with a film
event at the RBcFf in Dumfries, and the Transgender Day of Remembrance. Alon9 With all
olher national and internation81 LGBT awareness days delivered online via social media.
In addilion, we attended national level meetings and events across Scotland.
Partnerships Working
We have built links with rnany organisations throughout Ihe region: D&G Carers Centre, D&G
Advocacy Servi￿, NHS D&G, Chand In Mind. Financial Inclusion and Assessment Team
(FIAT). CHSS (Chest. Heart Stroke Scotland), D&G Health Improvement, Capability Scotland.
Poli￿ Scotland, Scottish Fire & Rescue SeNice, NHS Drug and Alcohol Service Partnership.
B8V. D&G Sexual Hèalth, CTC, to name but 8 few. Staff attend strategic meetings. the D&G
Equalty & Diversity board, D&G Equality Commission, The Ird Border Equality & Diversity
Board, and Scottish Government LGBT + Cross Party Working Group.
D& G LGBT Plus as part of theses, we have attended 47 Gore meetings & attended Impact
Assessments.

Training and Awaraness
Dumfries and Galloway LGBT Plus Training and Awareness offers two levels of Iraining:
1. Level 1.. LGBT Awareness Training
This training focuses on creating awareness and understsnding of LGBT issues. It
covers fundamental concepts, temiinology, historical conlexl. and challenges faced by
the LGBT community. The goal is to foster empathy. reduce stereotypes and promote
inclusivity.
2. Level 2., LGBT Applied Training
Building upon the foundation provided in Level 1, Level 2 tralning delves deeper into
practical applications of knowledge and skills related to supporting and advocating for
the LGB T Community. It covers topics such as allyship. (xeating indusive environments.
addressing discrimination and promoting equality in various settlThJs.
The overall aim of Dumfries and Galloway LGBT Plus Training and Awa￿neSS is to enhance
inclusivity, foster equality and prornote a more accepting and supportive community for LGBT
individuals in the region.
Over the funding period we delivered 14 training sesstons to several organisations across D&G.

Support and Group Work
We have delivered:

516 hours of Group work across the region
208 hours of Intem Counsellor work in Dumfries
Support is delivered with 1-2-1 sessions and a blended approach, face.ttrfac8 sessions are
arried out at our Dumfries and Slranraer O￿lCeS, along with partner referral spaces.
The sessions included support, advocacy, advice, guidance, along wilh sfjnposting to other
pathers and agencies

Parties and Stranraer Pride. We also ran several lheff￿d online campaigns over Ihe period.
Our volunteer activities have been rolling out across the region where volunteers were able to
deliver 1612 hours and also attending several partnership meetings both in person and online.
Much of this was with our Outreach Team across the region, along with Drop In's Meet Ups and
Walking groups.
We also thank our volunteers who make up our Board of Charity Trustees. Without their
dedication, freely giving up *￿Ir time to oversee the governance of the organisation and helping
deliver what we do in the community.
Flnancial review
There was a total deficit of £(4,195). Totsl reserves held at the year end amounted to £128,420
wilh £105,676 relating to restricted funds and £22.744 relating to unrestricted furKIs.

Dumfries and Galloway LGBT Plus will seek to build reserves, the aim of which will be to:

Save for capital expenditure
Invest in key projects or activities as agreed by the Board

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance wilh the
tems of The Charities and Trustee Inveslrnent (Scotland) Act 2005 and The Charities Accounts
(Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees consider th8t the audit
requirement of Regulation 10(1Xd) of the Accounls Regulations does not apply. It is my
responsibility to examine the accounts as required under Section 44(1 Xc) of the Act and to state
whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Indep•ndent Examiner's Report
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts
(Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of Ihe accounting records kept
by the charily and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes
consideratÈon of any unusual items or di3closures in the accounts and seeks explanations from
the trustees concerning 8ny such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the
evidence thal would be required in an audit, arKI consequently I do not express an audrt opinion
on the accounts.
Independent Examiner's Statement
In the Course of my examinalion, nc matter has come to my attention:
(1) Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect Ihe requirements:
(a) to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1 Ka) of the 2005 Act and
Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulalions; and
(b) to prepare accounts which accord with Ihe aGcounting reC￿rdS and compty with
Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations.
